Re: Macro bellows: fifty bucks!
Flat field of focus to be exact, which is a common design feature of macro lenses, not specific to bellows macros. What's unique about bellows macros is that they are short barrel lenses and require a bellows to hit infinity in most configurations. Pentax made one, Nikon made a couple and Olympus made about 4, including a 20mm f2. -Adam On Fri, Jun 4, 2010 at 1:31 PM, Ken Waller wrote: > What you really want is a lens optimized to have a flat depth of field. > Pentax made one - a 100mm for a screw mount. > > Kenneth Waller > http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/kennethwaller > > - Original Message - From: "J.C. Macro lenses are better for this use as JCO notes, and enlarging lenses are also good choices, but you can use non-macro lenses too. -Adam On Fri, Jun 4, 2010 at 1:14 PM, eckinator wrote: > With a bellows you don't need a macro lens. Re: Macro bellows: fifty bucks!
With a bellows you don't need a macro lens. A basic bellows like that one without aperture transmission is nothing more than an adjustable length extension tube but heavier. The helix drive Pentax ones are great but hard to come by. Alternatively, I still have two Novoflex bellows with aperture transmission for sale that I was too lazy to put up on eBay.
