Very strange, when I go to that page the links insist the pictures are in my

to
see them?

Usually when this happens to me it means that I need to reboot, somehow my
browser is messing up.

The page loads. No problemo.

Because, sadly, I don't photography well and never have. So when people take
out their cameras I hide or put a sackcloth over my head. :-) Well, I wish I
could. I've only had about 3-4 good pictures taken of me during my lifetime.

The true answer is Bruce has access to some that we should be sharing soon.

On 22/10/03, [EMAIL PROTECTED] disgorged:

*I've had this problem before and I have not yet figured out how to
solve it.
Elements (1) seems to create jpegs that AOL cannot read or something. Every
time I go to upload them, AOL crashes. So I had to open them and resave them
with Microsoft Photo Editor, thus degrading them severely. This also
happened
last time I used Elements and later uploaded pictures to a ftp site/web
page. I
still haven't figured out what the problem is. I did not resize the pictures
in the M$ Photo Editor, so I am thinking maybe it is a file header problem.
But, who knows?

Is there a 'Save for Web' facility in Elements? If it is, it should be
listed near 'Save' and 'Save As' in the File menu.

Cheers,
  Cotty

Bruce, just wondering what you use for backpack and tripod.I have the Manfrotto
028 for the MF and am looking into backpacks.

I finally have some pictures from the Northern
California PDML Meet up.

 http://members.aol.com/doepage2/PDML/

Some people pixs, more scenery pixs, and a humorous (to me, anyway)
accompanying little story. Nothing fantastic photograph-wise, but some passable.

*Unfortunately some of the jpegs are pretty bad and do not accurately reflect
the picture quality (or lack of it). :-)

 But enjoy, anyway!

A little better than passable!
I think my favourite is the rolling waves shot.

As to the attempted enablement: you *had* mentioned you wanted to try an MX.
I didn't even show you the PZ-1p, did I? I had one of those in the car, too!

Is it creating progressive jpegs? Many viewers have problems with these.
(I don't know elements, but it should be an option somewhere in the JPEG stuff)

Read the humorous little story.
Makes me glad that the one time I got together with other Pentaxians, they all
had SLRs that I also own -- unfortunately, two of the others had Limited lenses.
However, meeting another PDMLer's 100/2.8 is the reason I went out and found
one.
Then again, I think I helped him decide he needed that PZ-1p
..

Maybe we need to arrange a mini-PDML meet.
You're going to be up in Boulder Creek; Thomas is in Santa Cruz;
I'm in south San Jose. You could try the MZ-S and/or the PZ-1p.
Or even the *ist-D, if I'm prepared to take my hands off it ...
I could probably tempt you with a couple of lenses, too, if you
like longer glass; I don't have much in the wide-angle field.

Marnie,

Thanks for sharing that. Now I see what I missed. That was the whirlwind
weekend I came back from a trip to Toronto; didn't get the chance to meet
TOPDMLers either. Imagine that, missing not one, but TWO, PDML meets in a weeks
time. :-O

BTW, I too have experienced a Pentax SLR (Zx-5n) and a Canon Powershot
digi-PS. In some ways, the 5n is simpler to operate. All the dials are right
there, no fiddling w/ menus and an LCD...
