Upon entering the show room I was confronted by a wall of snobbery that left
me standing alone for some 15 minutes. So, I left and purchased a Porsche.
I was telling a friend who owns a tyre and mechanical shop about this and
he called _his_ friend who owned the BMW dealership. They called me about
a deal for the inconvenience. I told them 'Too late'.

I noticed that others have mentioned odd offsets, but there is also the
Daylight Savings Time. Some places use DST and others do not. And that
is not necessarily the same even across one country. Here in the US we
even have one state (Indiana) where it is optional (what a nightmare
that is) so that one state has two timezones in the summer and only one
in the winter.

Of course all that stuff is an example of what happens when you let
politicians decide things. Can't just let peaple get up an hour earlier

BUT...a digital 645 could be made at the size of, say, a Nikon D70. In fact, such a
camera could be made on the chassis of the current Pentax 645. Its chassis is in two
parts. One for the film chamber, which could be disposed of for a DSLR, and the other
the mirror box that contains the shutter assembly. The mount/film/sensor distance is
only about 1cm larger than for the K-mount. Hence, such a camera don't need to be
huge. Also, the lenses are no larger than Canon L-lenses. It will be interesting to
see how the Pentax digital 645 turns out (provided that it turns out at all!).

But what about the lenses? Can Canon glass beat quality of Contax 645, Fuji 645
or Hasselblad 645 lenses? What about Pentax 645 and 67 glass after all?

What it does seal is that at least one manufacturer keeps workin on full frame
(35 mm) DSLRs, which is undoubtedly good news. At least so me thinks.
