Thanks Paul and yeah I agree but well was just happy to get what I got at the time. As they both wanted to hide so was lucky to get the captures I got of them. May not get another chance to capture them until the fall unless we make it out to Radnor before leaves cover the trees. I agree that the owl shots are somewhat soft. If using "auto" selection focus, it may be that a limb intercepted the focus.(?) In this case as the owl is looking to the viewer's right, it may be a more comfortable composition if a bit more room is provided on the right. Still, a nice catch, Jeff. Not sure when next we will get back to Radnor Lake but the later we wait the more the leaves will come in on the trees so it will be even harder to get nice captures of the owls. You called him just a woodpecker.. and a flicker is a woodpecker of sorts. That red band is one of the key features. As for the turtles -- yes three on a log..
