Good catch on the owl. I like the first one best. Both are just a wee bit soft
perhaps, but still worthy images.

RE: PESO: Radnor Lake Captures

2011-03-15 Thread Jeffery Johnson
Thanks Paul and yeah I agree but well was just happy to get what I got at
the time. As they both wanted to hide so was lucky to get the captures I got
of them. May not get another chance to capture them until the fall unless we
make it out to Radnor before leaves cover the trees.

Re: PESO: Radnor Lake Captures

2011-03-16 Thread Jack Davis
I agree that the owl shots are somewhat soft. If using "auto" selection focus,
it may be that a limb intercepted the focus.(?)
In this case as the owl is looking to the viewer's right, it may be a more
comfortable composition if a bit more room is provided on the right.
Still, a nice catch, Jeff.

I agree with Paul... looks like the softness comes because you were
autofocusing and the camera failed you there , zoning in on the branches
- but nice geometry and expression on the owl...

I like the turtles that you didn't select to show..

which would be really good if you did the darken highlights and lighten
shadows routine. ..

and cute that you got a Ficker on Flikker even though he isnt facing
us, certainly a good

snap for ID.

Yeah they were a bit soft and yes it did focus on the branches. Not sure
when next we will get back to Radnor Lake but the later we wait the more the
leaves will come in on the trees so it will be even harder to get nice
captures of the owls.

Ann this could be because I am tired but I am not sure what you mean by the
following: "and cute that you got a Ficker on Flikker even though he isnt
facing us, certainly a good snap for ID."

Do you mean
