It's so delicate! The backlighting really emphasizes it's ethereal nature.

You always have such a unique way of looking at flowers. Not so much
dead logs, but flowers you really do well LOL. Seriously, it's so
hard not to have one flower pic look like another, and you seem to
have a great ability to find something unique and interesting in each

Bruce, I am sorry to say that, but it reminds of me geometry in nature
and fractals. It is beautiful, but in a very mathematical way, at least
in my eyes... I mean that as a compliment, I really do :).

Now, we need to see who's strong, Paul Stenquist-the-handholder or Bruce

Isn't *istD lovely at 800 ISO? :)

Yes, to me, that is one really big difference with digital. Shooting
higher ISO can be very handy - and at much lower penalty than with
film.

G'day Bruce,

Very nice. I really like the little hairs. I find myself ignoring the
flowers and just looking at those hairs g.

I think you said some time ago that you preferred not to crop. Well if
you were of a mind to, I think a bit off the top left edge looks
pretty good. Compositionally having it off centre I find more
interesting.

Beautiful. I love the way an extremely long lens renders flowers and plants.
I've been doing a bit of that myself. You might try cropping a bit of
background off the top. Nice work.

The Sigma 400 f/5.6 APO Macro (PK-AF) does a good job at this. It
focuses down to 1:3 natively (at ~3m IIRC), which is usually more than
enough for the flower shots I take.
