ok, I'm taking that challenge! Hi! An early morning walk is a most wonderful time to take the camera along. The lighting presents very nice possibilities. In this case, hazy backlighting helped to create the effect. Pentax *istD, Tokina AT-X SD 400/5.6 ISO 800, 1/1500 sec @ f/6.7, handheld, manual focus http://www.daytonphoto.com/PAW/bkd_1552a.htm Converted from Raw to Tiff in Capture 1 LE and sized/sharpened for web using BreezeBrowser. Bruce, I am sorry to say that, but it reminds of me geometry in nature and fractals. It is beautiful, but in a very mathematical way, at least in my eyes... I mean that as a compliment, I really do :). Now, we need to see who's strong, Paul Stenquist-the-handholder or Bruce Dayton-the-Tokina-wielder :). Isn't *istD lovely at 800 ISO? :) Boris

http://www.daytonphoto.com/PAW/bkd_1552a.htm beautiful, Bruce, although I think I will prefer a tighter crop, such as: http://www.misenet.sk/other/hair.html Note: it's not just cropped but slightly rotated as well. Bedo.
Re: PESO - Angel Hair
G'day Bruce, Very nice. I really like the little hairs. I find myself ignoring the flowers and just looking at those hairs g. I think you said some time ago that you preferred not to crop. Well if you were of a mind to, I think a bit off the top left edge looks pretty good. Compositionally having it off centre I find more interesting. Hello Peter, Interesting crop - I hadn't even thought that direction. I had only really considered taking some off the top. Dave, Thanks for the comments. I'm thinking that if/when I print this, I'll probably end up cropping a bit. I'll certainly look into your suggestion as a way to go. Beautiful. I love the way an extremely long lens renders flowers and plants. I've been doing a bit of that myself. You might try cropping a bit of background off the top. Nice work. Ok, I know where that is... I used to live in Bereserkely in the mid 60s- mid 70s. I was wondering if you were in someplace like Maine where the fiddle head ferns reside. Jim Bruce Dayton wrote: Thanks Jim. I am located in Roseville, California - just outside of Sacramento.
