I like that there's more texture in the sidewalk, and the bricks/concrete on the building. And I can make out detail in the man's suit. -Mat -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net

Nicely done, now if you maintain all that and return to the original moodiness of the photo... frank theriault wrote: > On 9/17/07, P. J. Okay, here's another re-working, with what what I think are the following improvements: Better contrast than the original. More detail in the man's suit than the original. Better rendering of the woman (including more detail and less "muddiness") http://tinyurl.com/yvrq63 http://bp0.blogger.com/_EaTEtfR4WJw/Ru_Ul3jQnLI/At0/iLcyBwP1NGc/s1600-h/sept_18+001.jpg thanks, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net

Re: PESO - Interaction with Others (reprise)
My understanding is, Frank, that very often when I sit down to edit my stuff, I tend to want to recreate the light the way I remember it. And it turns out that many times my memory for light is simply unreliable. So I would come up with the rendering that seems correct to me but my mind is limited by my incorrect memory. Then returning to the shot sometime thereafter, or better yet starting to edit not immediately after the shot helps to unremember the light and therefore get better rendering. I like the second better though I think that the first one could have rights to exist with slight modifications as well. Cheers. Definitely better! Good shot, too. Rick --- frank theriault <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Still learning PS and processing generally. FWIW - I like the reworking although you've lost some detail. There are elements in each that are improvements. You need to combine the two. frank theriault wrote: > Still learning PS and processing generally. Re: PESO - Interaction with Others (reprise)
Frank, with my eyes there is still no detail in the man's suit :) it looks better in the new one from a technical point of view - it looks like you just made it a bit brighter and added a bit of contrast, yes? The shot is good regardless - until you said you were lacking detail in the guys suit I didn't even notice - I'm looking at what is happening in the photo, not the buttons on the guys suit... nice shot ! ann frank theriault wrote: >Still learning PS and processing generally.
