Re: Third party K-1 pixel shift support
Time is worth something. That's what stops me from diddling with every single piece of software that happens along, because to do it usefully takes a lot of time. I'm always disappointed when something that looks very promising turns out to have a fatal flaw such that all my experimenting time was wasted. Opportunity cost: time spent dinking with one package means I can't spend time on something else that might have been more worthwhile. It may have improved some since then. Wouldn't cost anything to try it. On 5/17/2017 12:06, P. J. It took them so long to fix that issue, with no workaround on the horizon that I simply uninstalled the software and moved on. The only other thing that I remember about it was that even rendering 6MP files from the *ist-D and Ds cameras I was using were painfully slow compared to pretty much everything else, though IIRC the resulting images were nice. I guess I shouldn't complain, the software was free, but I don't expect people to use my software if it doesn't fulfill it's purpose for them, I have the same expectation from other people's software. Re: Third party K-1 pixel shift support
Thanks for sharing that info, I'll probably give it a try. I experimented a little with RawTherapee a few years ago when toying with the idea of trying to setup a Linux based photo workflow, but did not get into it enough to form any opinion. The ability to have it auto select pixel shift method (motion corrected or not) sounds interesting. Silkypix allows you to manually select between the two or to disable it, but no auto correct. When I do focus stacks there are occasional vibrations due to trucks passing etc. that may affect one or two images in the stack. It would be nice if the raw converter automatically detected those situations and adjusted them. As it is a just process all as motion corrected. Re: Third party K-1 pixel shift support
I really wish I could trust RawTherapee, I last used it when I first got my K20D and it would crash trying to render thumbnails from either DNG files generated by the camera or PEF files. In fact it even crashed when trying to render DNG files generated by Adobe's DNG converter software that were originally from the K20D.
