Yes, I know! It was during a gigantic argument over whether or not the
PDML should accept HTML mails, and it was a response to just how

How much trouble would it be for the owner-managers of this site to

To unsubscribe from the PDML you need to send a message with the

No trouble at all, in fact Doug did so for a long time. But they were still too
stupid to figure it out, or reading to the bottom of a message was too much
work. I guess a bit of code could be written to automatically forward anything
with unsubscribe in the subject to the list server. Then all us wise guys
could get kicked off the list every week or so too...

BTW when you consider 600 or so list members, probably 100 or so only staying on
for a week or so, we get remarkably few of these dumb messages.

I wonder why so many of these come with an entire digest attached...
(Rhetorical question. Reply at your own list).

I can understand why mankind hasn't given up war.
During a war you get to drive tanks through the sides of buildings
and shoot foreigners - two things that are usually frowned on during peacetime.

Every other list to which I belong has subscribe and unsubscribe

probably miss the once-monthly posting of the FAQ, and thereby fall into
a sort of limbo, not being able to figure out how to leave!
So, just as a cat plays with his mouse, an unaware list member, like
you, get played with until you get angry about it.

Or just go back to the place where they obviously found the information to
subscribe in the first place :-(

Natural selection is obviously flawed.

Sometimes people do forget but they should at least try to ask politely
if, by a pure hazard, we would be aware of the way one could unsubscribe..

I don't know why most of the folks here are so difficult about this
unsubscribing business.

Its because they only read far enough to subscribe.
