I was an art major. Then in my thirties I returned to college and switched my major to
computer science. That might seem to be quite a switch, but a crafting a good bug-free
(or fairly bug-free) computer program is also an art form.

Which doesn't contribute to the premises of this thread at all.

My degree is in journalism, but my minors are behavioral psychology and
political philosophy. I'm about three classes away from a degree in each of
those, should I choose to finish them, and I did (with permission) begin
graduate work in political philosophy. It's been more helpful than I ever
thought it would be, although it would be difficult to argue about Pentax
from a philosophical viewpoint, like, say -- fascism. :) What I do find
amusing is the kids today who are fresh out of college and begin writing
politically-based editorials, arguing either a liberal or conservative view,
when it's clear they have no real understanding of either.

Hmm, is there a link between a fondness for Pentax and a questioning

I have a minor in Philosophy.. mind you.. it's not "classical" philosophy
but instead bioethics.

I guess I could argue the morality of using a Pentax within the confines of
human experimentation... ;-)

You're number 4. Steve Desjardins mentioned his dark past as well. I
think this deserves a new thread (stay tuned).

Actually, Plato's analogy of the "cave with shadows on the wall" in the
Republic sounds like a darkroom to me. And speaking from experience, I
completely agree that philosophy is best done with a glass.
