2021-05-20 Thread Rick Womer
Tooo quiet… A bit more than half the number of posts we had during the same
week last year.

It’s become unusual to get more than two or three comments on a photo (or
series of them). This makes me sad, because this group has helped make my
photography what it is (for better or worse?).

According to pdml.net there are 527 of us. Where is everyone?

Not entirely true.

When my girlfriend and I were caravan touring in North Wales
(with an itinerary set from information in the Good Beer Guide)
we ended up at one pub which was basically just the front room
of a house; beer was obtained via a hatchway to the kitchen
where there were a couple of casks sitting on a shelf.
The pub was a couple of miles up a hill (along a very narrow
road; there wouldn't have been anywhere to turn round).
When we walked in we got some very suspicious looks - not
only were we strangers, but one was a woman! (the only other
woman there was the person serving the drinks). When we asked
for two pints you could sense the tension in the room subside.

Which is impressive when you consider how low the bar is around here.
