Re[3]: MZ-S
Hmm... sententious as usual. As we both shoot slide and nature, we can't be that different in tastes when assessing good exposure after all. So it must be the cameras. Likely the MZ-S and PZ-1p read the additional DX exposure latitude info that allows it to recognize the slide film and balance the multisegment algorithms accordingly towards neutral or slight underexposure. On the contrary, my MZ-5n lack the pins for DX exposure latitude, so it assumes it's always loaded with negative film, hence in *certain* *conditions* it exposes for shadows, something that is perceived as overexposure on slide . And this is not a malfunction, it's simply the intended behaviour as others have confirmed. Personally I'm not bothered at all as I use the spot meter anyway for all my slide work - and I rarely miss it. AF Still, in my experience over-exposures of +1 to +2.5 EV are to be AF expected from the multisegment and this gives a high hit rate with AF negative film. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Alexander, You are probably right. I just don't have any tubes hanging around. maybe I'll have to pick one up now. Re[3]: MZ-S Questions
It works, but the disadvantage is you can't move the rear part (where the camera is mounted) along the rail. Yet focusing works by moving the front part and the entire camera-bellows along the rail. RE: Re[3]: MZ-S Questions
Alexander, You are right. That is a good idea and would provide some (which is more than I have now!) albeit limited functionality. Given the length of the distance between the bottom of where the lens attaches and the base of the camera (even w/o the BG-10), this would allow moving the back portion of the bellows a distance that corresponds to the distance the extension ring extends beyond the rear portion of the rail of the bellows. I will try this with the Auto Bellow and post the results. Jason Alexander, You are probably right. I just don't have any tubes hanging around. maybe I'll have to pick one up now.
