Re: anyone shoot w/a point and shoot?

My favorite is the Yashica T4. I like the Super Scope viewer on the top
of the camera that allows waist level shooting. My other favorite is the
Olympus XA. I mainly use slide film in this camera.

okay pug-sters, anyone willing to admit that they occasionaly use a point and
 shoot to take photographs?

if so, what p/s do u use and why?

i'll get the ball rolling...i use a konica big mini 302 35mm/3.5 to shoot
black and white quick grab street shots. i love the lens, really small
camera so no excuse not to have it all the time and it has +/- 1.5 exp comp
(that is when i'm not using my canon ql17 GIII rangefinder w/a 40mm/1.7 for
 b/w)

i also occasionally use an ancient canon af35ml w/a 40mm/1.9 for color
prints. very quick lens and though clunky by today's standards, i just like
 the feel of this camera.

that's of course when i don't have the mx in hand.

 be well

2001-07-20 Thread Lewis, Gerald

YES... 10 or so years ago, I needed a camera I could throw in my briefcase
while on business travel, for both business and personal use. I found a
Samsung PS with the longest zoom I could find at the time (I think it is
28-105 but I don't have it in front of me). It has been bullet proof over
the years and the lens is remarkably sharp up to 8x12 using 100 speed B/W
film.

To challenge myself, I somethimes go shooting using only one camera body and
only one lens... forces me to make the best use of what I have available
rather than rummaging through a couple of bags of stuff. Usually quite a
challenge to maximize the picture while maximizing the assets of the
lens/body combo, or minimizing its shortcomings. I have also done this with
the Samsung with quite good results. I also keep it available for those
quick shots when hauling out the rest of the gear is impractical or for
inclement weather.

Sure, I bought a Pentax IQ Zoom 120mi when my son refused to take an slr on
a trip to Italy last year. It did very well, so I occasionlly carry it along
when I don't carry one of my regular cameras, or my SO will carry it when I
am shooting, just to snap a few pictures now and then.
