Thanks. Yahoo does not play nice with email lists, but it looks like it mainly
happens when people are using Gmail to subscribe to the list.

There was a technical explanation I saw one time that I think Yahoo does
something to the headers that when the list server sends them back out it tells
Gmail it's probably SPAM.

I'll bet the test message from Yahoo ended up in your Gmail SPAM folder.

Thanks for letting me know.

A have never heard of a "pro bono" class action.

First, the cost of conducting that type of litigation is enormous -- even
excluding attorney fees.

Second, one purpose of creating a class action is to get the court to award
attorneys fees paid by the defendant to the attorneys for the class.

Re: Promised Test Message

2014-12-27 Thread John

Thanks. That's pretty mmuch where I expected it to land.

We went through this earlier how Yahoo had started adding a tag to
mail-list postings that Gmail interprets as SPAM

When I receive PDML in my Yahoo account, it appears that anything
originally posted from a Yahoo account doesn't come through to my Yahoo
inbox.

Does what I'm trying to describe make sense?

The primary reason I now have an Earthlink email account is because
Yahoo has no way to actually contact someone for tech support. You just
keep getting routed to FAQs & Yahoo discussion groups.

Time-Warner Roadrunner's tech support is made up entirely of clueless,
screen-reading gits (or is that "entirely gits"?), but at least you can
get someone on the telephone to yell at.

My Time-Warner Roadrunner email still doesn't work - can't connect with
the mail server - but the one time I was able to access webmail, I set
up mail forwarding to my Earthlink account. That seems to be working so far.

I hope Eric will be able to get his problem resolved, but he's dealing
with two of the worst corporate assholes in the universe.

Re: Test Message - PDML Digests?

2011-04-25 Thread Stan Halpin
Don't know about the digest(s) but the list has seemed wonky for the last few
days with several persons reporting difficulty sending and/or receiving
messages. Do Digests get generated based on Time (i.e., every so often) or on
Volume (i.e., every x messages)? There may not have been enough traffic to
reach x . . .

Ha, ha - thanks for pushing the right button.

Allright - I realized I can actually use my blog at my local newspaper's
site to show you some pics.
I just uploaded a few summer pics for you of a favourite model from a few
years back. A few more further down. Just some nice shots of a very nice
young lady and a great model. You'd all love to meet and work with her. She
moved to Ireland though.

It may take a while for the page to load, since it loads my entire blog.
There'll be a lot of stuff that you won't understand very much of. But
there'll also be some pics to look at. Oh yes, if you happen to find the

Kittens are manifestly too wriggly to scan. The other scans were
similar to your own.

Found it -

This is actually a double exposure of sorts... but the bulk of her
was from the first time she jumped onto the scanner and curled up
the paw was later. I actually use the flatbed a lot to scan small items
for ebay.

She likes the printer, too - alas.

I can't find the scan - it will turn up eventually - but
I have to say no cat was harmedetc

I'm thankful Ashley used velvet paws when she paraded across the
screen and the lay down on it.

I never placed her on the machine - she kept jumping up on it while I was
trying to scan
something.

It never for a second occured to me it might harm _her_ she was attracted by
the sound it makes.

I should look for the shot again. it isn't distorted in the way those you
pointed to are.

thanks for the link - I won't let her do any more photography :)

Have you ever read "The Silent Miaow?" The entire book was translated from
a manuscript written by a cat. It's a wonderful, light-hearted book written
by a cat instructing other cats on essentially how to train humans. It's
something of an instruction manual on how to behave properly as a cat and
get all the attention and goodies a cat may want from his or her human.

This one looks like a plain text, although checking the source of it, it doesn't
specifically say so. The picture again showed the way it should.

Good luck,
Lasse

This one I see HTML, the other one I didn't. :)
This one I see the moon just as an attachment, the other I saw the pic
of the moon inline... ah, the world is a confusing place.

Title: Test message -- trying to eliminate HTML from Outlook 97

Hi all,

Thank you Cy, Bill R., Shel, Aaron, Glenn, and Frits for alerting me that my posts from MS Outlook 97 are showing up with embedded HTML.  I think you guys are on UNIX servers which do not properly handle MIME.  I'm going to try two possible solutions -- one solution in this test message, and a different solution in a subsequent test message.  Would you once again be so kind as to let me know if you see any embedded HTML code in either of the test messages?

This first message is sent in MIME format, but with the "Plain Text" option explicitly specified.  Do you see any HTML?  Do you see an 1864-byte JPEG thumbnail attached below?

[Apologies to the rest of you with MIME-compliant readers.  I'd have included "OT" in the subject line, but I didn't know how the filters are set on these fellows' mail readers, and I really wanted to make sure nobody is seeing any embedded HTML.  Getting this problem fixed will allow me to send more readable messages with my Pentax questions/comments to the UNIX-based folks on the list.]

Thanks,

Hello again,

This second test message is explicitly set as "Plain Text/UUEncode" and is
not MIME-compliant. Do you see any HTML here? How about the 1864-byte
attachment?

Again, many thanks!

Test message (HTML?? Say it ain't so!!)

2001-01-08 Thread Peifer, William [OCDUS]
Title: Test message (HTML?? Say it ain't so!!)

Hi all,

I received a note from Shel this morning telling me that one of my postings showed up in his mailbox with a lot of embedded HTML code, and asking me to please turn off HTML.  Would one of you be so kind as to let me know if you're receiving this test message with embedded HTML?  I'll then see if I can get things fixed.  I don't want to re-start the HTML Flame War.

I'm using my computer and mailserver from work, so I'm stuck with MS Outlook as an interface.  My earlier posting was a reply to a posting by James Apilado.  Outlook didn't show any HTML code in that message, or in my reply.  I haven't explicitly set Send Options for [EMAIL PROTECTED], but I can apparently set it as either MIME (plain text only, plain text plus HTML, or HTML only) or Plain Text/UUEncode.  However, when I reply to a posting from the listserver (like I did this morning), Outlook apparently won't let me set any explicit Send Option for the message text -- it will only let me set the option for any attachment.

Anyway, your help is appreciated.
  {Shel  --  Does this posting look any better, or is all that HTML crap still embedded?}

Thanks in advance,

Bill Peifer
