This is a species of Enneadesmus (Bostrichidae). *E.trispinosus* is
associated with date palm.

Hi-


It's possible that it is some kind of 'fly spotting' from the housefly or 
similar; which as you alluded to- results from feeding or defecation. I had a 
somewhat similar situation with a housefly infestation.

Hello,

I am hoping that some of you can help me identify possible fecal specks that 
were found on hard pieces of candy that are part of an installation piece. (See 
photo attached.) The candy is from a company named Peerless (now out of 
business) and the flavor is Queen Bee Honey, Green Apple.

Has anyone encountered similar specks on pieces of hard candy? I was told that 
the candy was purchased in 2007...
