[HACKERS] FW: PGBuildfarm member snake Branch HEAD Status changed from OK to Check failure

Seeing failure on 8.1 as well.

BTW, I keep forwarding these, but is there any need? Are enough hackers on the
status change lists anyway?

This seems pretty widespread. wallaroo (Mac OS X 10.3) is affected as
well. As of about 7 hours ago, most machines are failing PLCheck --
and those that aren't are failing ContribCheck.

If they're a literal tab they'll mess up the formatting that we just so
painstakingly put in. I'd personally vote for \t rather than \x09, but
other than that I agree with doing something like this in formatted
psql output.

OTOH ... there's a rather nasty problem with this whole concept, which
is that you can't readily tell whether the data was a tab or the actual
string \x09. The only way to make it unambiguous would be to start
doubling backslashes, which I think is a complete nonstarter on
backwards compatibility grounds :-(

Yeah, I was wondering about those functions too when I looked at the
patch. ISTM that this is overkill anyway; I cannot imagine anyone
writing a pgbench script with more than a few variables. So I'd
recommend ripping out the search.h stuff altogether and just making a
linear search through a simple array of variables.

Not that I can see, looking here:
