This one is the rare model AA with the small banner decal, Hazelcorn rarity R-7 (6-15 existing). The AA was the smallest cabinet model Graphophone sold by Columbia. Just got Stanton's catalog of their April 23-24 auction, which is described as a Fantastic one. It certainly is that. Here are a few choice items selected at random: Victor 6, mahogany horn, and matching Vic 6 cabinet, sold as package. Columbia Graphophone Grand, original finish, G reproducer and GG recorder in original boxes. Zonophone glass-sided model A, flawless finish, all original. European Hand Wind Gramophone Model 2. Johnson-Montross lever-wind gramophone, all original including the felt. Edison Idelia with wood-grained horn. Edison Class M w/repeater, in oak case w/glass top cabinet. Edison Eclipse floor standing coin-op. Regina Hexaphone 103, local model with orig. signage. It sure would be nice to have a LOT of cash to spend at this auction!!! Does anyone have for sale or trade a European-style hunting horn, the type that curves around and faces the back of the machine, either nickeled brass or aluminum? Does not have to be perfect. [Phono-L] eBay phono observations
Is it just me, but it seems that eBay phono listings have changed somewhat, such as: 1. Most items over $300 are Buy It Now or Best Offer, not auction type 2. Most higher priced items are listed for long periods such as 25-30 days 3 Few of the higher priced auction items have any bids at all. Any comments? When shipping a machine of low to moderate value, why not just say it's a phonograph, omitting the word antique. I have done that several times and fortunately have not had a problem. And for a horn, say it's a phonograph speaker. To say they are electronics could result in a lot of problems in case of damage. On more expensive machines it is OK but on standard ones the freight charge can make it really to expensive to purchase a machine like a c-250. I am working through that on a machine now.
