[Phono-L] New Reprinted Catalogs - Reginaphone/ Edison

2014-01-18 Thread Shawn ORourke
Folks,

I have a couple new reprinted catalogs made available to the collector
community These are professionally done on high-quality paper and image
processing with vivid graphics and text. They were reprinted from very
nice original examples.

First a 20 page Regina/ Reginaphone catalog. This one is large,
approximately 9.5" by 7". It is full of great Regina related items. It
contains many table top and floor model Regina Music Boxes. There are
unbelievable pictures of the music boxes in addition to great descriptions.
As well there are several pages dedicated to how these wonderful music
machines were constructed. Included also with this catalog is a one sheet
dealer listing (front and back) of the music box disks available for the
machines. Too cool! Price - $20 plus $2.00 shipping in a Kevlar envelop
within the USA.

Second, a 16 page J.W. Jenkins & Sons catalog. This one is large,
approximately 10" by 7.5". It is full of great Edison related items. It is
from approximately 1901/1902/1903 era showing the new style Edison cases.
There are more interesting details on other pages including floor and
cabinet cranes, a repeater, record cabinets, etc., etc., etc. Too cool!
Price - $15 plus $2.00 shipping in a Kevlar envelop within the USA.

Finally, I still have limited quantity of reprints remaining from the rare
Montgomery Ward catalog of 1898. This 16 page catalog was produced by
Montgomery Ward. Interestingly enough, It introduced some of the most
important and rare machines known today including the Edison H coin-op,
Universal Talking Machine coin-op, Polyphone, and Trade Mark Berliner.
There are 16 pages chock-full of great information on early phonographs and
gramophones. Price - $20 plus $2.00 shipping in a Kevlar envelop within the
USA.

Pictures of sample pages on request.

Payment in checks or fee-free PayPal only.

[Phono-L] ITEMS FOR SALE

2014-02-23 Thread Shawn ORourke
I have two items for sale today.

First, a very respectable Green Oak model A Edison Home Phonograph. This
one is complete and runs well. . It plays well through a 2 minute record.
This one is as found. It will need some elbow grease to clean it up and
adjust it for good playing, but it is all there. The most major objection
on the machine is probably the small dent in the backside of the lid. I
believe this can be pushed out, but that is up to the new owner. It should
make a nice player for someone. It has all of the original parts. It
has the original crank that has a small chunk out of the end. It still
works very well to crank up the machine and cannot be seen when the crank
is installed on the machine. It has a nice model C reproducer that sound
very well. It has the desirable banner decal and the early deep green oak
finish of 1900/ 1901.

The price is $345.00 plus shipping only to you. No PayPal on this. Pictures
available on request.

*Next, * a very respectable copy of an 1898 Berliner Record. 346 - Miserere
from Il Traovatore by F. Jardella. This record plays with some surface
noise, more up front less later. It is free of skips, repeats and cracks.
It plays well from beginning to end. There are two very minor needle digs
that barely sound and play through well. All in all, this is a respectable
example of an early Berliner record.

The price is $85.00 plus shipping only to you. No PayPal on this. Pictures
available on request

[Phono-L] Stuff Comming to Wayne Show

2012-09-23 Thread michael shawn orourke
Folks,

Here are a couple of nice items that I'll be bringing to the Wayne show in a
couple of weeks.

First there is a very nice Victor III. This one is all original and
complete. Really, the only apology I can see on this machine is the top of
one of the back corner columns is partially broken off. Something that would
be easily replaceable. The rest is in super nice condition. The horn is
super nice, and is the 24 inch version with the 16 ½ inch bell. With only a
little clean up, this would be a top notch collector piece. Price $1250.00

Second, is an Amberola 30. This one is the earliest version with the
pen-striping on the bed plate. It is sometimes called the "decorated"
Amberola 30. Again, a nice machine, only missing the front grill. The grill
is the same on all Amberola 30s, so something very easily obtainable. The
decorated 30 is really hard to find as only a few were made when the
Amberola was initially introduced, then the pen-striping was abandoned.
Price $350.00

Pictures available for pre-show activity!

[Phono-L] Replacement Blue Amberol Record Reamer Tape - Two Sets

2015-12-04 Thread Shawn ORourke via Phono-L
Has your sand paper fallen off, worn out, or gotten irreparably clogged on
your Blue Amberol record reamer? I have the solution. For sale are 6 strips
(two complete sets) of replacement record reamer sand paper.

This sand paper has the correct grip to stick very well to your reamer and
is the right grit to correctly ream your records. Easy to apply, it is a
peal-and-stick product. It comes in one inch wide, 5 ½ inch long pre-cut
strips. All you need to do is remove your old sandpaper, clean your record
reamer very well from old residue (steel wool and a clean rag seem to work
great), and peal and stick the strips on. It is as simple as that!

The price for two complete sets (6 strips) is $5.75 which includes shipping
in the US!

No Paypal, but checks are fine. Please contact mshawnorou...@gmail.com with
interest.

[Phono-L] For Sale - Early Victor I

2015-12-28 Thread Shawn ORourke via Phono-L
I have a very nice playing and looking Victor I (One) available. This is
the earlier model with the small case and beveled turntable. It plays
through a record really well. It is all original. The only real objection
to the machine is that someone messed with the elbow in the past, causing
denting on the sides. It has nice original finish, respectable
pen-striping, a nicely rebuilt and playing Exhibition reproducer and the
early small brass bell horn.

If you are looking for a nice Victor One (its not perfect, but very nice),
here is your opportunity get one! I can share several pictures of the
machine directly with those who have interest.

This will be packed carefully for shipping.

The price is $775.00 plus shipping to you. No PayPal, but checks are fine.

[Phono-L] Listening Tube Wires For Sale - Again!

2017-01-01 Thread Shawn ORourke via Phono-L
Years ago, I found two original external listening tube support wires. They
were so useful, making those floppy listening tubes highly functional, that
I made a run of them, some to keep and some to sell to other friends. They
were not easy to form. I vowed at the time never to make another run. About
a year ago, I went back on that statement and I made another run. Even
thought they sold out quickly, that time, I said "never again." I guess you
never say "never" or "never again."

Available once more I have made a limited production run of these listening
tube wires. The reproductions are exactly as the original, nickel plated
and highly functional.

These would be correct for any early set of listing tubes without wire
supports. Pictures of the reproduction wire, and a scan of an original ad
showing the wire are available upon request.

The price is $40.00. Please contact me directly at my email with interest.

Thank you

[Phono-L] FOR SALE STANDARD SPEAKER

2017-05-01 Thread Shawn ORourke via Phono-L
*For sale today is a hard to find, some may say rare, Edison Standard
Speaker. *

*This Standard Speaker is in nice, original condition. It has an original
french glass diaphragm and a new stylus. The cutter looks whitish, and I
have not tried it. The nickel on the Standard Speaker is stunning. It
presents exceedingly well overall and is one of the nicer ones that I have
ever seen. *

*Standard Speakers were offered starting in 1889 until 1902 (according to
Frow). What makes them special is that they had both the playback and
recording stylus on the same needle bar. An adjustment to the angle is all
that it takes to change from play to record. While it was much easier to
use than having a separate reproducer and recorder, the Automatic
reproducer functioned better for sound reproduction. Therefore the Standard
Speaker is not often found today. *

*This would be an awesome opportunity to dress up one of your early Edison
machines with a hard to find reproducer. They don't come around that often.
One did just sell on EBAY, but that was one of the first ones I've seen
sell in a very long time. If you are interested, don't wait. This early
stuff is not that easy to find. *

*The price is $775.00, Firm. Pictures available upon request. Postage and
insurance is additional to where you live. No PayPal, but checks are fine.
I can deliver to Stanton's Auction or Union with payment. *

*Please email me with interest at mshawnorou...@gmail.com
*

[Phono-L] FOR SALE - NEAR MINT VICTOR III WITH OAK HORN

2017-08-22 Thread Shawn ORourke via Phono-L
For sale today is a machine I have owned for quite some time. It is the
nicest Victor III I have ever seen, which is why I have kept it. It’s time
to move it on.

The machine is absolutely stunning. Everything, with the exception of the
gaskets in the rebuilt reproducer, is original. The finish is stunning. The
pen striping is as near to perfect as you can find. Wonderful original
felt. Awesome #20 smooth oak Victor horn. It has an excellent dealer tag on
the front as well. It’s a strong player and sounds absolutely wonderful.
Not sure what else I can say, but if you have questions, I will be glad to
answer them, take more pictures.

A reprinted Victor III Instruction manual is included with the machine.

If you are looking for the best, this Victor III may be for you.

The price is $2,500. Shipping is additional.

I can deliver to Stanton's in the fall, and possibly the Wayne Show. No
PayPal, but checks are fine.

I have pictures that I can share with those who have serious interest.

Please contact me with interest or questions directly, additional pictures
at mshawnorou...@gmail.com

Thank you

[Phono-L] Phonograph Tokens for Sale

2019-01-06 Thread Shawn ORourke via Phono-L
Its time once again to thin out some of my Coin-operated tokens. The ones
for sale today are all nickel sized. Interestingly enough, finding nickel
sized phonograph tokens is harder than finding penny tokens.
Non-intuitively, nickel play machines came before penny play machines at
the turn of the century. Then as the teens came, nickel play became more
the norm.

If you have a coin operated phonograph, it is awesome to have one or more
tokens to display with your machine.

   - The first grouping is stamps "BC" with "For one play on Phonograph"
These are super cool and unusual to have "phonograph" stamped on them. I
have 14 of them available. Price each is $12.00 Volume discount if you want
   them all.
   - The second grouping is from Queen city novelty company. Novelty
companies and arcades housed phonographs and other coin operated machines
for the public to enjoy. I have 8 of these tokens. Priced and sold only as
   a group at $45.00
   - The third and final group are various Arcade and Novelty company
tokens. These are priced at $8.00 each.

Pictures on request. Shipping is additional.

Thank you

Shawn
