Re: [pinhole-discussion] rahji.com swap list-share you joy with us! Yes, I will! Yes, I will!
Dear all pinhole friends from the world, Hi Rob, you did a good job again! Thanks! Thanks. Thanks. I have join the swap and can't wait to receive the pinhole photos. I found now we have more than 10 people have join the swap... Actually I post a message a few months ago for the swap. I can remember Rosanne also posted a message about the swap a few months ago. I want to have such swap every year and I still enjoy the pinhole photos I received last year. Maybe we cannot ship the post card or get it before Christmas. I have an idea: How about we take photos at our Christmas parties (or anything happened during the Christmas) and we send the postcard no later than end of January. Thus we can share the joy of Christmas from difference countries. I will send as many as postcard I can. I believe none of you will refuse to receive such special gifts after Christmas :-) Hi all my friends, come and join us and share your joys with us! Join the swap. Join the Christmas party. It's a good warm up before you participate the WPPD3. Thanks again Rob for your excellent job. Here is my Christmas e-card to you all! I hold the camera (not pinhole) and dancing in front of a Christmas tree! http://www.zeroimage.com/xmas2002.htm Enjoy it! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Happy WPPD3! RE: [pinhole-discussion] Polaroid pinhole.
Polaroid makes a Polaroid pinhole camera - $99 at most of the discount camera places, try Calumet since they seem to be pinhole camera friendly - cardboard, with a nice brass pinhole, and a good quality Polaroid back which is NOT cardboard. Looks great, and looks like great fun to be had building it. You can check it on at www.polaroid.com. Have seen some pix from it online, and they've been quite nice. Can't speak for myself, though - I bought one for my wife to give me for Christmas, so while I'm looking at the box right now, that's all I'm allowed to do for another week or so. Also bought one for my sister, and one for my niece - we're going to have a family pinhole day during the holidays. Ed Nazarko -Original Message- From: pinhole-discussion-admin@p at ??? - Original Message - From: bendur...@aol.com Dear All I was wondering if could help me. I want to do polaroid transfers, and want to know if anyone knows a cheap an effective way to make a polaroid pinhole camera that can do this. Ben, The easiest and cheapest would be to get yourself either a Polaroid holder or camera that takes the film you want to use and then you build a wooden box around the holder and or modify the camera to make it a pinhole camera. There are always holders and cameras being auctioned at eBay that can serve the purposes mentioned, these are some currently being auctioned: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=1944584085 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=1944512695 The main thing is to make sure the holder or camera actually takes the film you intend to use, as there are older Polaroid holder/cameras that may seem to take modern film but they will not, so do your homework before bidding. I bought an oscilloscope camera at eBay, from that purchase I have a shutter like this http://tonopahpictures.0catch.com/G-Claron/Ilex75_4.jpg that I could use for pinhole , a close up lens I use as paper weight and a holder exactly like this one: http://tonopahpictures.0catch.com/021502/pinhole0.jpg http://tonopahpictures.0catch.com/021502/pinhole2.jpg that I also converted to pinhole camera. Disclaimer: those auctions above are just to give you an idea, I do not know the persons auctioning that stuff nor I have any interest in them selling it. Guillermo
[pinhole-discussion] Re: What is Diffraction? (Lisa Reddig
5. Re: What is Diffraction? (Lisa Reddig) Now I need to go and look at some of my color pinholes and see if I can notice different color blurs. Do you think I will be able to see it? Lisa while i could be totally wrong, i've noticed that on color prints, a pinhole lens flare (like when the camera is pointed close to the sun) yeilds a rainbow-ish halo. it could be the effect of the different colors' diffraction values as they reflect off the edge of the pinhole that seperates them out into the spectrum like that. in other words, this might be the chance to see the different color blurs... /aaron
[pinhole-discussion] December/January swap
About a month ago, I asked if we were going to do it again, but nobody seemed interested. Regarding the new swap, I think that the limited time betwen now and the holidays would discourage participation, so maybe the suggested final mailing date should be bumped to the end of january. John I'll change the date on the site. This is good timing since I just had my review boards yesterday so I will actually have a little sculpture-free time now to participate in this swap! :) rob

*so maybe the suggested final mailing date should be bumped to the end of january. John **That sounds like a good idea. Thanks Rob for resetting the list. Swaps are lots of work but very rewarding, a great way to start the new year. Take Care, Chuck
