[pinhole-discussion] Digital pinhole images
A friend tried a pinhole bodycap with his Canon D60. The images can be found at: http://www.die-ritters.de/pinholeexperimente While the results are better than expected, we noticed some funny dots on the pictures. An example can be seen at http://www.die-ritters.de/pinholeexperimente/punkte.jpg Does someone have an idea, what these dots are? Internal reflections on the chip? [pinhole-discussion] New images and new camera
Hi everybody, I made a new camera. It's of the oatmeal box type but made of a coffee tin can. A description of how I did it can be found in the "Projekte" area of my site (URL at the end of this mail). Click on "Röhrenkamera (Selbstbau)". Sorry, but the site is in German only. Three images made with this camera can be found in my "Galerie". The first one comes right up. Use the left and right buttons for the next two pictures. [pinhole-discussion] Overnight photo labs in the US?
Hi folks, this may be somewhat off topic but I hope not too far :-). I will be on a trip through Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota in May and June. While I will take photos mainly with my SLR-equipment, I plan to take one pinhole camera on this trip. Did not decide yet, wether it will be a 4x5" or one of my medium format Zero's. The problem is, that I would like to see the pinhole images as soon as possible to decide if I should do them again (due to the uncertainties of the exposure of a pinhole image) before I head on to the next place. How is it in the mentioned area? Does one usually find one hour or overnight photolabs in the (bigger) cities, that can do medium format (maybe even large format) slide film or is there no chance? Are chances better for negative film? Thank you! Dieter -- Dieters Lochkamera Seite: http://www.die-lochkamera.de/ drf-Süd-Homepage: http://www.drf-sued.de/

[pinhole-discussion] Pinhole movie camera
The recent discussion on pinhole video cameras reminded me of a guy i was in contact with for a short time about two years ago. His name was Christian Hossner and he had designed what he had called his "banana shaped pinhole movie camera". He sent me two pictures of the camera and a video tape containing about 20 min of pinhole movies made with this camera. The pictures can be found at http://www.bingo-ev.de/~db106/pincam/index.htm As far as I recall the camera worked like this: The bent camera body contained a sequence of pinholes as can be seen on the first image. Behind the pinholes there was black tape with a single slit. This tape was attached to the reels on top and bottom of the camera and could be spooled up and down moving the slit from one pinhole to the next. Behind the tape there was a piece of 35 mm film. By spooling the tape with constant speed and simultaneously tilting the camera, so that always the pinhole which was passed by the slit was aiming at the object, he got a short movie. Repeating this many times and attaching the film pieces to another he made pinhole movies up to 10 min long. I regret that I have neither the necessary equipment nor the right to put the movies on my website, but I thought that the readers of this list might be interested in this - as I think - unique design. Does someone know of other non-video pinhole movie cameras ? Dieter -- Dieter's Lochkamera Seite: http://www.bingo-ev.de/~db106/index.htm Lochkamera-FAQ: http://www.bingo-ev.de/~db106/faq.htm
