The term natural camera appears for the first time that I know of in Petzval's 1857 presentation On the Camera Obscura, where he defines the natural camera, which uses only a small hole to gather images, as one which is elementary in character, convenient in form and inexpensive to produce- -it furnishes an excellent example of what nature presents and of what art must supply. He then goes on to discuss how the introduction of a lens to the setup distorts nature in the search for greater sharpness. A wonderfully succinct endorsement of low tech. I don't remember where I got this article, maybe from Eric Renner. - Original Message - From: Jean Daubas j.dau...@free.fr To: pinhole-discussion@p at ??? Por favor, please refresh my memory. How do you write pinhole camera and natural camera in Spanish? How about some other languages? I'd like to share this information with my photo classes and my wife's elementary school students. Many Thanks, Jim K
