Bug#641760: audacious: Audio drop-outs (overruns?) on Alsa playback to USB audio

2011-09-15 Thread Dominic Sweetman
Package: audacious
Version: 2.3-2
Severity: important

Unpleasant audio problem which produces a nasty click every couple of
seconds. Shows up while using ALSA output plug-in. Goes away when
using OSS, even though it's OSS emulated by ALSA.

I really should have checked it out with some other ALSA playback: but
I couldnt figure out how to select the device in aplay and everything
else seemed to complicated, sorry... I could do more to chase it, if
it really is otherwise unknown.

Bug#641758: audacious: Track time display keeps flicking between correct time and zero

2011-09-15 Thread Dominic Sweetman
Package: audacious
Version: 2.3-2
Severity: normal

After I changed to use the OSS output plugin (in fact OSS-over-alsa) I
found the track time display malfunctions, flicking between zero and
the right time once a second or so (but it's not regular). The slider
jumps about too...

VLC removed during full-upgrade-- Wheezy

2011-09-15 Thread coltanalyst
Just to make mention: during a aptitude full-upgrade session VLC was
removed in it's entirety and upon attempting to re-add it major packages
were required to be removed including other a-v related packages and the
gnome desktop. I have tried other possible solutions and none seem to be
satisfactory in any sense.

Bug#641701: audacious-plugins: Plugin ffaudio vanished, no plugin for wma

2011-09-15 Thread Thorsten Schulz
Package: audacious-plugins
Version: 2.4.4-1+b2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after the last upgrade and restart, audacious complained of not having a
plugin to play Windows Media wma / asf files. It seems that the ffaudio
plugin has gone. I have no idea if this is intentionally, but it doesn't
work for me.

Now rescanning my drive-library audacious stopped finding windows media
files.

I am using current ffmpeg libraries from debian-multimedia if that makes
a diffrence.

cheers,
Thorsten

ecasound replaces ecasound2.2, so yes, ecasound2.2 should be removed (I
don't know how though).
