Thanks for doing that, sorry I missed it! I will be around for about an hour. Re: [PLUG] On line banking with Ubuntu & U.S.Bank

Whoever told you it was due to not using Windows or MacOS was being lazy. They do it for ease. I've been using PopOS!, a Ubuntu variant, for years. I use, due to laziness, Firefox. Try that. It is known to work, by me. Only call USB help desks if they've canceled your ATM or credit card. They are, IMHO, useless for any other case. Disclaimer: I am a retired US Bank employee. Re: [PLUG] Another brave-browser question: loading automatically
On Thu, 7 Jul 2022, Ben Koenig wrote: That's strange, but I guess it explains why Brave doesn't pop back up the way Firefox does. Firefox has some really fancy session management so that if it crashes, it can immediately restore all previous tabs. Most browsers have this kind of functionality but you might need to see if its enabled by default. They usually call it "remember previously opened tabs" something like that. Ben, I now accept that Brave 1) doesn't appear when I startx, 2) complains it wasn't properly shut down, yet 3) asks me if I want to restore the open tabs when I manually invoke it. But if Brave can't handle being closed when you log out of the desktop then maybe it has bigger problems. I don't have that problem with Falkon or any other browser. I've used firefox for more than two decades as my default. While I've used others (e.g., Opera and Chromium) on occasion their presence on a v.d. is ephemeral. So I'll just open Brave and click the restore tabs button when I first log in. Thanks for your comments, Rich
