[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC Experimental install pack for Windows

2006-03-24 Thread ModelCitizen

I've just upgraded my AlienBBC from 0.8 to 1.1, using the experimental
Windows installer. It it's so slick. Just double clicked on the exe and
I have a wonderful, greatly improved AlienBBC instantly.
I can't thank all the guys who work(ed) on the wonderful plugin enough.
For me, AlienBBC alone makes the Squeezeebox worth it's money.
Thanks very much indeed.

There is a new version of TrackStat available that solves the issues
with Music Magic import for large music collections. There is no other
changes in this release besides correcting this problem. The new
version is available at my 'download page'
(http://erland.homeip.net/download) as usual.

Yannzola, thanks for helping me with the testing.

That did it! trackstat-async worked, after a 10-15 sec pause! It
worked! Import completed in 286 seconds. Thank you erland!

Could you try the patched version I attached to my previous post this
evening to see if it works any different, it uses asynchronous calls to
MusicMagic instead of synchronous, so it might work better if there are
some sort of timeout problem. I have also added a debug message which
should show if MusicMagic answers or not.

I have only verified it with about 2500 tracks but for me both versions
works perfectly.

Can you try the version attached to this post. I have made some small
changes regarding the calls to MusicMagic, I have no idea if it works
any better for you but its worth a try.

Also if it does not work please look at my questions in the previous

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: AlienBBC v1.01

2006-03-24 Thread jamesedmunds

I am happily listening to Radio 3 as I type this.

Thanks for this plug-in. I used the "experimental" self-installer for
Win & 6.2x, ran it, and it worked perfectly.

I hadn't been able to get the prior version to work, but hadn't yet
taken the time to do the debugging that would have been helpful to
someone trying to figure out my problem, so didn't think it was fair
for me to post about it until I took the time to do the debugging and
sent that as part of my post.

But thanks to others who weren't such lazy procrastinators as myself,
the program has evolved to a point where I installed this new version
and ... presto! it worked.

Thanks again for your work on this, it really increases my enjoyment of
my Squeezebox.

Best,

James

This seems to half work.

Maybe because I'm a half wit :-) As I said before: everything was already
there, but I still did not use it...

In the beginning I created all this stuff, because I knew I would need it
some day. Then I encountered a problem with the registry access in Ewe
1.49 (it only works on Windows), so I put it away and forgot about it.
I'll check all the settings stuff again - changing the server without
restart isn't working, neither.

The http port entry accepts my non-standard
value and then and I get the small sized artwork in the "Music" view.
However in the "Status" view, where there should be the larger image, I
still get the question mark graphic.

That happens when you create a function getMainURL() but don't use it, and
only fix half the places where you reinventd the getMainURL()...

Looking at the console window from which I launched ewe I see repeated
instances of the following:

That came from that bad http connect. Shouldn't happen any more as soon as
I've fixed the settings stuff.

Not sure if this helps you nail this one.

Thanks a lot, it really helped. Hope to have a new release soon.

Not sure if this helps you nail this one.

Also, having exited ewe and restarted I see that the http port
