... and soon we will take over the world, and Haags will be the
official world language... (delusional?)

Michael: Haags will not get you anywhere in Australia it is a
dialect (not a language like Frysian) spoken by a few in the
Netherlands. So, my exercise is not very useful, but it would make some
small group chuckle... :)

Talking about languages: there are several indigenous cultures that are
struggling to survive. Language being a key driver of culture, would it
be nice if Logitech would endorse/sponsor a project translating
Slimserver into indigenous languages? I am thinking about various
Native American languages, Maori (New Zealand), various Aboriginal
languages (Australia), etc... With the proper media attention to this
project, awareness of both the cultural heritage and Slim Devices can
be gained...

Anyway, just my two cents...

I will set the language to Dutch and reset Slim... Thanks Michael.

Regards,

Matt

When does the timeout occur? Once you're already listening to music,
or before the music starts to play? Where are you seeing the timeout
message (Squeezebox disply or plugin debugging output)?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] trackstat musicip mixer and symbolic links

2007-06-08 Thread erland

Could you try to do an export to MusicIP from TrackStat and then goto:
http://localhost:9000/log.txt and refresh the page once in a while.

Look out for anything saying "Failed" or "Error", when the export is
finished you should see a message like:
"TrackStat:MusicMagic: Export completed in xxx seconds."

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] trackstat musicip mixer and symbolic links

2007-06-08 Thread exile

my main music folder is called: calliemusic and that resides on the
drive partition called callie.
the symbolic link folder is called: Duke_music symlink and that lives
inside the calliemusic folder

so the actual music file i gave you as an example resides on a drive
partition called Duke and on that is a folder called Duke_music (this
is the folder that the symbolic link is pointing to) and then the path
is--compilations--what it is--gossip

so if there was no symbolic link involved, the real path to the music
file would be:

/Volumes/Duke/Duke_music/Compilations/What It Is! - Funky Soul and Rare
Grooves (Disc 2)/01 Gossip.flac

hopefully that helps you out.

LastFM actually removed the functionality that the similar artists
search originally used,
and I can't remember if I ever released a version that got it working
again.

Or maybe I just broke it!
I'll take a look.

James, if you are seeing this.
It looks like the stations for similar artists always is
"artist//similarartists". Do you think it is safe to assume
this is actually the case and use the available CLI command in the
LastFM plugin for playing such station ?

Or should I use the station returned from the similarArtistSearch
function in the LastFM plugin ?
In that case would it be possible to add a CLI command to LastFM plugin
for playing a similar artist station based on an artist name, or as an
alternative, would you like a patch for this ?

By the way, I had to change a row in the similarArtistSearch function
to get the LastFM plugin similar artists functionality to actually work
(version 2.1.3):

Code:

  my $url = "http://www.last.fm/listen/artist/$searchString/similarartists";;

Wow, I had no idea about Haags. Is this a language specific to your people
in Australia?

What you could do is change the fallback language. This is set to EN in
Slim/Utils/Strings.pm (pretty much at the top). Change this to NL, restart
SlimServer and you should get what you want.

And make sure you're using 6.5.2 or later, as the Dutch translation has
been updated and completed for that release.

I'd still not use it as fallback on your "production" system, as if
there's a string missing in the Dutch translation (thanks for telling us,
just in case ;-)), you won't get any string displayed, but the log file
filled up with backtraces complaining about a missing string.

> Is there a tool that I can use to load the strings file, and from there
> select the Dutch language file as a base?

With the the above change StringEditor should do the trick.

> Dutch language file into the Haags language file, so I can make the
> changes from there?

You could indeed extract all lines with NL into a custom-strings.txt file,
s/NL/HA/ (or whatever the ID for Haags is) and edit the file in a text
editor directly.

Have fun!

here's the info from the api link:

file /Volumes/Callie/calliemusic/Duke_music symlink/Compilations/What

and lastly, i just have the default musicIP mixer settings in my
trackstat setup. I don't specify a music path or an export extension. i
have dynamic integration turned on and the host set to localhost and the
port to 10002.

i couldn't find any settings in the musicIP mixer preferences that
would affect the import of trackstat info.

thanks so much for your help.

I finally got around to testing this (sorry for the delay) and you are
spot on - I turned on the first SB3 and there was a 10sec delay -
during that time my other SB3 (in the next room) had the date/time
screensaver running and that froze for the 10secs - i.e. the seconds
weren't updated on the clock.

Does this help or narrow down the problem?

Yes, reducing gain is the only way to avoid clipping.

The log file looks fine. You should install the latest version
(http://inguzaudio.com/installation) which fixes the "HASH()" message
and the EQ sometimes not responsing to changes.

SoftSqueeze support is broken right now - sorry about that. I'll fix

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Slimserver translation "haags"

2007-06-08 Thread matthijskoopmans

Hi,

I want to undertake a reasonably useless, but rewarding project: I want
to translate Slimserver Software in Haags... for those "in the know":
Haagse Harrie Haags... :)

As a "Hagenees" in Australia, it seems like something I ought to do.

So, I checked the translation helper, which starts out with the base
language of English. For my purposes it would be a lot easier if I
could start out with the base language of Dutch (Haags is a Dutch
dialect).

Is there a tool that I can use to load the strings file, and from there
select the Dutch language file as a base? Or could I easily copy the
Dutch language file into the Haags language file, so I can make the
changes from there?

Naturally, I will (if this project ever completes) share the
translation with the rest of the world (and the 300.000 or so
Hagenezen, of which maybe, what 1, 2, 5, own a Slimdevices device :) )

Any help would be very much appreciated :)

Cheers

Matt

Hi,

yes i checked the logfile and found this:

I changed gain from -6 to -16 and changed EQ again. Unfortunately this
has no effect on transporter. Still clipping issues. Is reducing gain
the only way to circumvent this? Its getting more and more
quiet..

The normal logfile using transporter looks like this:
