Language being a key driver of culture, would it be nice if Logitech would endorse/sponsor a project translating Slimserver into indigenous languages? I am thinking about various Native American languages, Maori (New Zealand), various Aboriginal languages (Australia), etc... With the proper media attention to this project, awareness of both the cultural heritage and Slim Devices can be gained... Anyway, just my two cents... my main music folder is called: calliemusic and that resides on the drive partition called callie. the symbolic link folder is called: Duke_music symlink and that lives inside the calliemusic folder so the actual music file i gave you as an example resides on a drive partition called Duke and on that is a folder called Duke_music (this is the folder that the symbolic link is pointing to) and then the path is--compilations--what it is--gossip so if there was no symbolic link involved, the real path to the music file would be: /Volumes/Duke/Duke_music/Compilations/What It Is! - Funky Soul and Rare Grooves (Disc 2)/01 Gossip.flac hopefully that helps you out. -- exile exile's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4579 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35931 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

James, if you are seeing this. It looks like the stations for similar artists always is "artist//similarartists". Do you think it is safe to assume this is actually the case and use the available CLI command in the LastFM plugin for playing such station ? Hi Matt > So, I checked the translation helper, which starts out with the base > language of English. Is this a language specific to your people in Australia? What you could do is change the fallback language. This is set to EN in Slim/Utils/Strings.pm (pretty much at the top). Change this to NL, restart SlimServer and you should get what you want. And make sure you're using 6.5.2 or later, as the Dutch translation has been updated and completed for that release. I'd still not use it as fallback on your "production" system, as if there's a string missing in the Dutch translation (thanks for telling us, just in case ;-)), you won't get any string displayed, but the log file filled up with backtraces complaining about a missing string. > Is there a tool that I can use to load the strings file, and from there > select the Dutch language file as a base? With the the above change StringEditor should do the trick. > Dutch language file into the Haags language file, so I can make the > changes from there? You could indeed extract all lines with NL into a custom-strings.txt file, s/NL/HA/ (or whatever the ID for Haags is) and edit the file in a text editor directly. Have fun! Yes, reducing gain is the only way to avoid clipping. The log file looks fine. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Slimserver translation "haags"
Hi, I want to undertake a reasonably useless, but rewarding project: I want to translate Slimserver Software in Haags... for those "in the know": Haagse Harrie Haags... :) As a "Hagenees" in Australia, it seems like something I ought to do. So, I checked the translation helper, which starts out with the base language of English. For my purposes it would be a lot easier if I could start out with the base language of Dutch (Haags is a Dutch dialect). Is there a tool that I can use to load the strings file, and from there select the Dutch language file as a base? Or could I easily copy the Dutch language file into the Haags language file, so I can make the changes from there? Naturally, I will (if this project ever completes) share the translation with the rest of the world (and the 300.000 or so Hagenezen, of which maybe, what 1, 2, 5, own a Slimdevices device :) ) Any help would be very much appreciated :) Cheers Matt -- matthijskoopmans matthijskoopmans's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35937 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
