Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Last.fm SlimScrobbler Plugins SS 7.0a
Ah, are you installing from CVS or using the packaged zip file? The raw files from CVS won't work any more without the change you made. I think there's a way around this... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeScrobbler 1.0 for SqueezeCenter 7.0
Hi Matt, seems like you've solved the missing strings. You could see in the log file that SlimServer wasn't loading the strings.txt file from SqueezeScrobbler (look for Loading String File). The missing web page I don't know. It could be an artifact of starting with the plugin in the wrong place. Try stopping SlimServer and clearing up your cache directory (keeping the MySQL dir depending on how large your database is!) I think using a Jive remote would be a better starting point it is only beta but a real product is likely.. (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?JiveUI http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=222605postcount=7) Using Jive has the advantage that it is a separate Linux device with all the necessary audio output. The motion detection of Jive also has added advantage the user could just shake the Jive remote and it could speak the Now Playing text. Having a earphone socket means the visually impaired user could browse the database without annoying any other listeners. Trying to modify Slimserver to generate speech and decide when should music play and when voice and whee should the mixing occur would seem to be far more difficult than making Jive talk. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38903 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC has never worked in any versions I have had.
AlienBBC has two parts: 1. BBC Menus 2. Playing realaudio streams using mplayer. If the BBC menus don't appear or work, then the installation needs to be checked. I don't have a Mac so I expect some Mac users may help. Some of the BBC menus (e.g. BBC Radio 4 Listen Again) no longer work as the BBC have checked the design of their web site so it is possible that you are testing with the menu that are broken. First we need to check on the installation. 1. Do you have RTSP entries in Server Settings/File types ? 2. You have an AlienBBC menu on the main web page. Click on the AlienBBC menu and you will get a number of BBC Radio entries. Click on the Radio 1 and describe what you get if you don't get a series of entries with headings (Listen Live,We recommend, Most popular etc). -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38934 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Suggestions for improving Custom Mixed Tag scanning and playlisting performance
A restructured version of *egd*'s database based on the second solution with separate value/relation tables is now also available for download if anyone likes to test some queries against it. http://erland.homeip.net/arkiv/slimserver/largedb/largedb_solution2_20071002.zip The new tables in the main database is only setup with primary keys with almost no extra indexes. The new table structure looks like this: A single table customscan_track_attributes_list that contains the following columns: - module: varchar(40) - attr: varchar(40) - table: varchar (255) The customscan_track_attributes_list table describes which attributes that exists and in which tables they are stored. The actual data is stored in a two tables for each module/attr combination, named as: customscan_track_attributes_module_attr For example: customscan_track_attributes_mixedtag_mood And customscan_track_attributes_module_attr_values For example: customscan_track_attributes_mixedtag_mood_values The customscan_track_attributes_module_attr table contains the following columns: - track: int (Primary key) (The tracks.id identifier) - value: int (Primary key) (The *.id reference in the corresponding values table) The customscan_track_attributes_module_attr_values table contains the following columns: - id: int (Primary key) - value: varchar(255) (The text that should be displayed to user) - valuesort: varchar(255) (The text used for sorting) - extravalue: varchar(255) (The value used when joining Mixed Tag data) - valuetype: varchar(255) (The type of SlimServer object it represents, if any) I haven't tried querying much against this database yet, but I did some simple queries and this second solution seemed a bit faster. This is the case even though the second solution requires an extra join. As an example I tried this query towards the solution 1 DB refered in the previous post: Code: select track from customscan_track_attributes_mixedtag_mood where customscan_track_attributes_mixedtag_mood.value='Bitter' It took 30-40ms to execute. The corresponding query (shown below) towards the solution 2 DB was 10 times faster (3ms). Code: select track from customscan_track_attributes_mixedtag_mood,customscan_track_attributes_mixedtag_mood_values where customscan_track_attributes_mixedtag_mood.value=customscan_track_attributes_mixedtag_mood_values.id and customscan_track_attributes_mixedtag_mood_values.value='Bitter' Of course, this difference could be related to indexing so some more testing is needed to verify. At last I also tried the corresponding query towards the old database structure which looks like below. Code: select track from customscan_track_attributes where customscan_track_attributes.module='mixedtag' and customscan_track_attributes.attr='MOOD' and customscan_track_attributes.value='Bitter' This took about 100ms besides the first time which took 5000ms, so with this very preliminary first test it seems like both these solutions will be faster than the current database structure. I'll do some more tests later, but at the moment I'll have to give the 7.0 conversion of all plugins priority over this, but feel free to experiment with the database dumps if you have time. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.homeip.net) 'My download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.homeip.net/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38714 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Sorry - this is going to be tedious but as I don't have a Mac, there is a need to check the basics. 1. The Plugins directory which has the Alien folder also has all the other Plugins (e.g. DateTime, Health) and the Alien folder has the same owner and permissions as the other folders. 2. In the Alien folder there are a number of files most names something like AlienXXX.pm with 3 folder AlienAddon, HTML and Playlists. The Playlists directory has just 3 files. 3. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC has never worked in any versions I have had.
All the files look OK but I can't see any ownership or permissions and I can't tell you how to make OSX show them either. What you need to do is check that the permissions and ownership of the Alien files folder are the same as the Health folder and files. I hope a Mac user can suggest how to confirm this. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38934 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Last pic shows permissions at the bottom. It says Read And Write, meaning they can be changed. I guess that's what you mean. -- ezsurfing ezsurfing's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12421 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38934 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Images are very small and I can't see the details. Check the owner and group and see if they are the same as files (e.g. check Plugin.pm ) in the Health plugin. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38934 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR Blaster from one SB3 to another ?
Thanks for that, Felix. I've noticed now by reading the Wiki section that IR repeater is probably what I want as it's supposed to transparently pass IR codes without any config files being needed at all. I have a couple of URC 7562 remotes which I'll program with SB and Humax codes. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Are you willing to pay for a Sirius Radio plug-in?

It reinforces my decision to connect the SB3 to my main (higher quality system), and connect my Satellite radio to my Bose table radio in my bedroom. Yeah, the premium Internet stream is significantly better than what you'd get via the satellite and you don't have to mess with antennas or an additional receiver. -Greg -- GoCubs GoCubs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=312 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20621 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

I set all permissions for the whole Plugin folder. But I don't see any Health folder. Pasting a bigger one... [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.4 not working
I recently upgraded Slimserver to 6.5.4 from 6.5.3. Now I cannot get softsqueeze to run - it gives the error Unable to launch application. I've tried starting it from the SlimServer web app and also from my start menu. I've tried reinstalling java. It will run as an applet started from the slimserver web page but not standalone. Any hints?
