[SlimDevices: Plugins] plugin to play 2 playlists simultaneously (mixed audio)?
I have a situation where I've got some background ambiance noise (an hour long mp3) that I'd like to play while a normal music playlist is playing. Is there any plugin or something that would allow me to do that? To explain, I have a MAME arcade cabinet and there are some Arcade Ambience hour long mp3's that someone put together that are basically a mix of classic arcade games being played to try to simulate the sound of an 80's arcade. It has no music though (thankfully!), so I'd like to play my own music over the top of one (or more) of these arcade mp3's. Hoping there is some way to do this so I don't have to choose between the arcade mp3's and my music! [SlimDevices: Plugins] LastFM troubles
I'm happy that I can now stream something from LastFM in SC7.0, having fixed the issue with the bitrate string. James said he would put this in the next release. However, there's still some problems: 1. Reliance on Pandora plugin for Love and Hate icons. I believe that because I have disabled the Pandora plugin (not available in UK), I had to create server\Plugins\SqueezeScrobbler\HTML\Default\html\images\btn_thumbs_down.gif and btn_thumbs_up.gif, otherwise the server becomes unresponsive whilst trying to fetch artwork that it can't find. 2. If I click the thumbs down hate icon, the server seems to skip over several songs. In Moose, I can see songs appear in the now playing window, then instantly disappear, until it finally stabilises and plays another song. The same thing happens if I click . I hear stuttering whilst it is trying to locate the next song to play. 3. Clicking Stop (using Moose - there isn't a stop button in default skin) appears to do a skip to next song. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Curious. The instructions in my previous posting will test a freshly downloaded mplayer with the Mr Kite sample. This test is independent of any AlienBBC or Slimserver installation. I've started Slimserver on my Mac and followed the instructions for installing AlienBBC on http://www.x2systems.com/AlienBBC/installation.html#mac I moved the mplayer binary I tested yesterday from /Downloads to the required /usr/local/bin location for AlienBBC. Everything all works very well for me. You can see the list of files that mplayer is using by starting Activity Monitor (in /Applications/Utilities and then starting mplayer. While mplayer is active, select it in the Activity monitor window, then clicking the Inspect button. In the window that opens, select the Open Files and Ports tab. Here's the list of open files I get from my mplayer while listening to Radio 4: /Library/PreferencePanes/SlimServer.prefPane/Contents/server /usr/local/bin/mplayer /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenAL.framework/Versions/A/OpenAL /usr/X11/lib/libfreetype.6.3.16.dylib /usr/X11/lib/libfontconfig.1.1.0.dylib /usr/lib/libexpat.1.5.0.dylib /System/Library/Extensions/IOHIDFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/IOHIDLib.plugin/Contents/MacOS/IOHIDLib /Library/Caches/com.apple.LaunchServices-023501.csstore /usr/lib/dyld /private/var/db/dyld/dyld_shared_cache_i386 /dev/null /Users/steve/Library/Logs/slimserver.log /Users/steve/Library/Logs/slimserver.log In your error message, the problem seems to be caused by a missing X11 library. The name of the file is different to the one that I see. However, when I open a Finder window on the /usr/X11/lib directory, I see a file called /usr/X11/lib/libfreetype.6.dylib, which is an alias, pointing to /usr/X11/lib/libfreetype.6.3.16.dylib. There is also an alias to the X11 folder, called X11R6, in the /usr folder. So on my system a reference to /usr/X11R6/lib/libfreetype.6.dylib will actually open the file /usr/X11/lib/libfreetype.6.3.16.dylib. Could you open a Finder window of the /usr directory to see what is in there? To do this, go to the Finder, then use shift-command-G to go to a particular folder and type /usr. If the 6.3.16 file is present you could attempt to create an alias to it called libfreetype.6.dylib. To create an alias, select the item you wish to create an alias to and type command-L. Creating any necessary aliases should at least fix the 'missing library' error. It could very well be that it already works, though; hitting return just exits the program. Have you tried playing with the volume/mute of your output device? Can you confirm that you can play an audio file using a standard player (flac123, mpg123, ...)? This mode still works, but there are also better options you should try: --signal: lets you shutdown with SIGTERM (friendly for running as daemon) --retry: causes squeezeslave to keep trying to reach the server if connection is dropped or squeezecenter is not present when squeezeslave starts. You should read the help provided when issuing squezeslave --help for a better description. You can also compile with the debug options (in makefile.linux, it's the commented-out CFLAGS): this will allow you to specify debug options which output info at runtime. The output is messy, but you may gather some useful info. You may want to update to the latest version, which fixes a few race conditions and infinite loops. Please post your results to the squeezeslave enhancments thread and welcome aboard! Once you're up and running, if you don't mind, we can arrange so you can post your binary on sourceforge. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Delete Played Songs From Playlist?
kolding;270487 Wrote: Yeah, that would be great, wouldn't it :-) Perhaps if I can find the time. That's a much bigger hack than this was. Porting this guy to SC7 was very easy, as it doesn't have any options or interface. That's where things start to get, uh, interesting. Ok, so the new Knight Rider was really mindless (like that was a surprise) and I found myself with some time. I added a menu item to turn it on and off, and also fixed what appeared to be a bug that I think would have occurred if anybody had tried to run this while playing music on two SqueezeBoxen at one time. I've put it on my server, under http://www.koldware.com/SlimStuff Hopefully pulling off the web will solve the problems some people seem to have with unzipping (I can't duplicate that, BTW. Downloads and unzips fine for me).
