2008-05-14 Thread Craig, James (IT)
If this is correct, you've installed the plugin in the wrong place:

 //Program Files/SqueezeScrobbler/HTML/EN

SqueezeScrobbler should be in the 'server/Plugins' folder of your SqueezeCentre
installation.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] nuther AlienBBC problem.....

2008-05-14 Thread bpa

If you're up to getting a proper log - the following steps will produce
a log of what is happening between SC, mplayer and socketwrapper.

To run SC from a command prompt.
1. Stop SC.
2. Save a copy of Plugins/Alien/custom-convert.conf so you can
revert.
3. Edit using Wordpad the file Plugins/Alien/custom-convert.conf.
Change the -really-quiet on the mplayer lines to -quiet. Save file
and end edit.
4. From Windows open a command prompt
5. Goto top left corner icon menu of command window and change
properties to change window size. Change window to 300 wide by 3000
lines long.
6. In command prompt window. Change directory (ie. use cd) to the SC
directory - if using a standard installation it is in c:\Program
Files\SqueezeCenter\server
7. Type in the command squeezecenter.exe and SC should start
normally.
8. From web interface (Setting/Advanced/Logging) enable logging as
follows plugin.alienbbc to DEBUG, player.source to INFO.
9. Try to play a BBC Listen Again stream
10. Log messages should scroll up and you should see some from mplayer
and also socketwrapper.
11. Wait 1 minute (or less if there are lots of messages) - at command
prompt window - type CTRL/C to stop SC. Wait for prompt.
12. Use command prompt window top left icon menu to copy all of the
log messages and paste them into text file
13. Zip the text file and Post the zipped text file.

Are you sure v1.1.10 doesn't contain a bug? I reverted back to v1.1.1

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeScrobbler 1.0 forSqueezeCenter 7.0

The path to the settings page is expected to look like that.
SqueezeCentre works out what it's supposed to be (I've no idea why this is
necessary).

Are you deleting the plugin cache file? If not, that's probably why it's not
updating.

James

PS. Is it just me, or is the SqueezeCentre 7.0 plugin management far worse than
in 6.5?!
I've really lost all interest in repeatedly telling people they've installed
the plugin in the wrong place
and have to re-install along with deleting a mysterious 'cache' file in order
to get it working...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeScrobbler 1.0 for SqueezeCenter 7.0

2008-05-14 Thread mdeweger

Are you deleting the plugin cache file? If not, that's probably why
it's not updating.
Yes, first deleted the plugin cache file only, then deleted the entire
cache directory. Of course stopped and restarted SqueezeCenter every
time I re-installed and emptied the cache.

The path to the settings page is expected to look like that.
This baffles me. This path doesn't even exist on my computer. (And I'm
sure I installed v1.1.10 correctly. v1.1.1 is working every time I
install it.)
To emphasize what I mean: the path

C:\Program
Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\SqueezeScrobbler\HTML\EN\plugins\SqueezeScrobbler\settings\basic.html

does exist and should exist (based on the directory structure in the
SqueezeScrobbler zip file). However, based on the error message,
SqueezeCenter/SqueezeScrobbler appears to look for

C:\Program
Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\SqueezeScrobbler\HTML\EN\**settings**\plugins\SqueezeScrobbler\settings\basic.html

It's the first settings (emphasized with asterisks) that shouldn't be
there.

P.S. There are some space characters in these paths. I didn't type
them, but apparently the forum software generates them.

This is a patch against the latest from googlecode. If you use svn you
can just apply, if you use the installed package, it should be applied
 against the extracted .par file.

To add a callback simply call:
 Plugins::ExtendedAlarm::Plugin-addCustomPlaylist($name,$callback)

Where $name is a defined string token (raw text for name MAY work)
and $callback is the function you want to run when this custom playlist
is selected for the alarm. I guess with this, you could now even use the
plugin to schedule a rescan if that's what you wanted. The callback will
include the $client as the only arg, but I could add the ability to
 supply additional callbackargs if required.

 -k

kdf, would it be possible to add the $name as a parameter in the
callback so I don't have to define a callback for each individual
playlist ?

I can probably do the patch myself to verify it, I just like to check
if you are ok with adding a $name parameter.
I think the optimal solution from Dynamic Playlist point of view, would
be if the register function took both a name and an id parameter, where
the name was used for display and the id was used when issuing the
callback, but that might require larger changes of the ExtendedAlarm
plugin ?

I'm not as sure about the id. I'd like to keep the extended alarm
from forking too much from core server methods.

There are a number of playlist features showing up in bugzilla (re
sound effects and favourites) now that are apparently supported
through SN, but not SC for the alarm. Given that SN is closed, I have
no idea how that is handled, but certainly there are some things that
will be coming along to add more alarm playlist options to SC, at
least for favourites.

I'd like to avoid getting into a position where the ability to support
the same is complicated by supporting other features. If there is a
clean way to support it all from SC, then maybe we can work on getting
both Alarms working this way.
