I think some error messages is incorrectly generated as info messages instead of warning/error message, so you will not see them unless you increase the logging level of plugin.trackstat to Info or Debug. Danco, Thanks for the reply. The application in my Applications folder is called "MPlayer OSX". I downloaded the file from the site http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html that was called "MPlayer OS X 1.0rc2". The disk image that was downloaded is called MPlayerOSX_1.0rc2.dmg. And also where you downloaded from, again in case different installations do something different. Basically, the application is a package, which means it is a folder that looks like a file. You need a Unix program called mplayer that lives deep inside that folder, but the recent versions of AlienBBC *should* find this Unix program without your having to do anything yourself. You have to create the filter in the MusicIP GUI first. Right click in the GUI, create filter, and then define your conditions. We have filter Siduhe (all songs in my music folder) and Mr Siduhe (all songs in his) so that we can generate mixes from only our own tracks if we want. You may need to stop/start the API and/or do a full clear and rescan to make them come up. Same with moods, a full clear and rescan should do it. [SlimDevices: Plugins] A couple of MusicIP questions.
I can't seem to find an answer to these things anywhere. I'm hoping someone here can help. In the setting for musicip there is MusicIP mix filter. Mine just says none and I can't change that. Is this somethng that is usable and how do you activate it? MusicIP playlist format. It has a place for prefix (mine says musicip) and suffix. What should I have in those places? One more thing, I had read that you can use moods in SC but I can't find out how. I can create them in the Musicip GUI but they don't show anywhere in SC. Any ideas? I have the same problem as others on this thread - having gone through the installation steps for mplayer and AlienBBC, I see Alien in the SC list, and can see the programme list, but there isn't any sound. The log file says "mplayer not found" as others have found. Where I'm confused in the mplayer installation step is exactly how and what to install. There's a .dmg you download and an application inside that you drag into your Applications folder, which then happily fires up, but is this what Alien and SC need? Or do they need the codecs installing, and the application compiling from within the OSX shell? When I type mplayer in the shell I also get a "command not found" error. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with version 7.2, but have you tried reinstalling the plugin? I tried this to get rating information from TrackStat into MusicIP. It said it was scanning, and after a while I refreshed and it didn't say scanning any more. I looked in MusicIP and can't see any ratings. I looked in SC log and can't see any info. [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR Blaster / Controller
I've just received my Controller and have a small problem with the IR Blaster plugin regarding the volume function sent to my amp. When I press the volume up button, the volume goes up. But if I want straight to to put the volume down, the volume carries on to go up. I have to stop pressing the button down and pressing it again to make it going down. I don't have this problem with the standard SB3 remote. How can I resolve this ? Thx again for the great job... I know its not good to continually post in your own threads, but since I've figured out what was wrong, and in the spirtit of helping those that will come afterwards! It seems that SC7 doesn't play nice with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0.0. Upon disabling On-access scan, my CPU utilisation dropped to 1-5%, network ~2.5%, and now everything works fine on my N800 - Now Playing is indeed Now Playing :-) I've not changed my virus software, so it worked fine with version 6.5, but upon the move to SC7 clearly there is some conflict. I guess I can run without On-Access scan, and just rely upon the nightly scan, but maybe I should move to a more SC7 friendly virus package. No-one else having this problem? I've just spent the last hour watching my server CPU, Network stats etc and the N800, to see if there are any problems. My CPU idles at 4%, it then jumps about to 40% when loading Artists, Albums etc, and it seems to stabilise at 20-30% while streaming (this is an Intel Pentium(R) D 3.2 GHz, with 2GB ram) so I was surprised to see such high CPU usuage just for streaming (my SB3 is wireless in my lounge). When I use my N800 to select an album the network utilisation jumps from 0.001% to 15% for a moment, then drops to about 2%, slowly dropping of until the next track, then it jumps up to 15%. So it looks as though there is plenty of capacity on my server (alhough I do wonder if I'll be able to get away with less CPU power) and my problem persists. After a few mins (at best) and 30 s at worse, the 'now playing' screen on my N800 displays 'playlist empty' and I have to close down and restart to get it to bring anything back. And then that lasts for a few mins. I do like SC7, but if there is no-way of keeping my playlist showing up, then I'm off to find an old version of Slim.
