To hopefully help out, I don't have much music encoded in FLAC format,
but what I do have displays the tagged album art in iPeng as expected.

I'm not sure what might be wrong in your case, but at least you know it
works at least in my case.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM Radio plugin and SqueezeCenter 7.1??

2008-07-28 Thread kblagron

I am running 7.0.1 with the Duet, and had no problems getting XM Online
to work, but had problems with Channel 26. When I changed the
streaming settings to low, it started working, and seems to be working
fine now. The only problem I have with it, is that it seems to go
offline if on over about 24 hours or so, requiring a reset of the
squeezebox.

Hi Michael

There are no new folders.

I have used Putty & WinSCP to administer linux boxes before, I'm
certainly not an expert, but if you give me instructions, I should be
able to follow them.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC addon to read iPlayer menus

2008-07-28 Thread bpa

Attached is a version 3 of the iPlayer Addon for AlienBBC 2.0x - SC
7.x.

The BBC changed their format again and this should restore
functionality.

There are menu additions to each station - Categories (1 level) and
Schedule.

I have only done preliminary test so post feedback on programs or menus
that don't work correctly or as expected.

As before just unzip and put the 3 files into the Alien/Addons
directory replacing the current files.

Actually, having no flacs myself, I have no idea.
But iPeng is supposed to show the same cover art as SC and nobody has
complained so far, so I take devinjc's comment as that he's looking for
somebody to tag his files.

There's a lot of people out there using iPeng with flac files so I
really beliebe someone would have come up with an issue if it were
there. We did fix album art for the likes of pandora and LastFM so this
should not be an issue.

All my music is in Flac format, properly tagged with album art.

Well, Coolio has his own iPod. He's free to do what he wants, and I
think if he's travelling, he might use it, too.
But after I had all this work I felt I should do SOMETHING for myself,
too. And if you look carefully on the page you will see that this was
actually MY Christmas wish...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SlimNAS won't install

2008-07-28 Thread peterhocking

Hi Michael

Answers to you questions are;

1. 700 gig, (approx)
2. FreeNAS was installed by copying an image on to a USB stick & then
setting the PC up to run/boot of the USB stick. FreeNAS is actually
running on the memory stick so the total capacity of the RAID array is
available for storage.
3. Already checked & fixed prior to SlimNAS installation attempt.

Thanks,

Peter

How large is the partition you're installing SlimNAS? How did you install
FreeNAS? If you downloaded the files using Internet Explorer then make sure the
extensions are still what they should be (.tgz).

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SimNAS won't install

2008-07-28 Thread peterhocking

I've just built a new FreeNAS server running version 0.686.4. I've
downloaded the 3 files as mentioned at
http://www.herger.net/slim/detail.php?nr=1026&kategorie=slim into a
folder called slimnas in the root of the share on my server.

The 3 files are slimnas-1.1.1.tgz, slimnas-install.sh &
squeezecenter-noCPAN.tgz. the files were all downloaded today & are the
current verisons.

When I execute the command as detailed at
http://www.herger.net/slim/detail.php?nr=1026&kategorie=slim, I get the
following message;

$ /bin/sh /mnt/DATA2/slimnas/slimnas-install.sh
Extracting Perl and supporting files...
There has been a failure installing SlimNAS.

I could not see any entries in the log files, although as a newbie to
FreeNAS, I'm happy to concede that I may have been looking in the wrong
place.

The FreeNAS server is built on an Asus motherboard with a VIA chipset
with a Socket 754 Sempron 3000 processor, 512 meg RAM, 2 x 750 gig SATA
hard drives in a hardware RAID 1 array & boots off a USB memory stick.

Any ideas or solutions?

TIA

Peter
