Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Playlist Manager Plugin version 3.0 for SC7.0

2008-09-03 Thread MeSue

Hi Phil,

I installed this plug-in today, but I guess it is not compatible with
Dynamic Playlists? I was playing a Dynamic Playlist and I did add.hold.
It did invoke the Playlist Manager, and I named a new playlist to add
the song to, but it added the entire now playing list to the new
playlist. I managed to repeat this three times.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat + apostrophes in song titles

2008-09-03 Thread gbreit

Hi Erland:

I am happy to perform the test you described, but it may take me a day
or two. To answer your other questions: I was definitely running 7.0.1
prior to upgrading to 7.1. Yes, I have iTunes integration enabled. And
Yes, I have a Music Folder configured in SqueezeCenter
(C:\Music_Library\).

In the meantime, here is an interesting item. I fortunately have held
on to most of my scheduled backup files, and rescued a bunch that had
not yet been deleted from the XP trash.

Over time, the file sizes grow gradually, as expected, as more ratings
are added, more songs are added to the library, and more history
entries are generated. However, between Aug 02 and Aug 03, I noticed
an unusually large jump in size:

-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 7353795 Jul 31 03:08
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080731.xml
-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 7358800 Aug 1 03:08
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080801.xml
-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 7367833 Aug 2 03:08
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080802.xml
-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 8177327 Aug 3 09:52
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080803.xml
-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 8181521 Aug 8 18:05
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080808.xml
-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 8181521 Aug 9 03:05
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080809.xml

I upgraded SC from 7.01 to 7.1 on Aug 2 in the afternoon (around
13:00). So the jump in size occurred during the first backup after the
7.1 upgrade.

(XP directories are samba mounted on my mac, where I can work from the
Unix shell)

I performed a diff between the 0802 and 0803 backups which I have pm'd
you. At the beginning, you will see a bunch of new tracks that I added
that day, no problem. But following that is a large number of new
fields that all look like this:

>
>
file%3A%2F%2F%2FC%3A%2FMusic_Library%2FBadfinger%2FBadfinger_The%2520Very%2520Best%2520Of%2F10%2520We%2527re%2520For%2520The%2520Dark.m4a
> 1158814205
>

What do these all have in common? Every one appears to have an
apostrophe in either the song title, or the album title (corresponding
to the directory in which it is stored). Furthermore, the apostrophe
is encoded as %2527 in the url. I have not verified, but I suspect
that on that day, there has been a new duplicate entry added for every
single url that contains an apostrophe...

Again, I am not 100% certain when I started to experience the issue
with the missing ratings, but it very possible it started after the 7.1
upgrade.

Will execute your suggested test asap.

Thx.

Greg

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.67 (Windows frontend)

2008-09-03 Thread silicon monkey

I've been looking for a small footprint controller and recently gave
Moose a try, but I'm having 2 small problems with it and I hope someone
can help me out. The first problem is when it's playing back a
playlist. When Moose comes to a song without an album cover, the Now
Playing display gets stuck. The display will stay on that song until I
do something like open and close my prefs. The Squeezebox will keep
playing the playlist normally.

My second problem is when I click on the Library tab, Moose tells me
there's .moo database. I tell it to build one, but it always gets
stuck scanning covers, so it never completes the operation and a .moo
database is never built.

Sorry if these are Noob questions with obvious solutions, but I keep
playing around with the program and can't figure out what I'm doing
wrong. Can anyone help with these?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Plugin to start SC from a Squeezebox Remote?

If I remember correctly, playlists that requests a parameter currently
can't be used as SqueezeCenter favorites.

You can select them as a Dynamic Playlist favorite, but that won't help
because they can still not be used as an alarm playlist. I felt that it
was a bad idea to allow alarm playlists that doesn't start to play
until the user has selected something.

You will either have to point SqueezeCenter to a top level directory
that contains all the library directories as sub directories, or add a
Windows shortcut or Linux soft link in the "My Music" directory that
points to the other directories.

It is possible to create menus in Custom Browse that only shows the
active library, the default menus shows all libraries or the library
which has been configure for a specific menu.

Sounds like the usual Windows unzip error. I thought it only happens on
Vista (haven't seen it myself). WinZip should work, though. Strange.
Will make the next version's Zip on Windows.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alarm Plugin Deprecated.

2008-09-03 Thread Phil Meyer
>I guess if enough people wanted it, we could even have an advanced mode
>for the alarm, that pops in more options.
That would be nice, but not sure it needs to be moved into an "advanced mode"
set of preferences. I find it more confusing having per-player preferences
after the list of alarms, than if they were just options for each alarm.

There would be no need for a per-player alarm volume slider. As most people I
guess will only have one alarm per player, there would be no more sliders to
add to the page (slider moves from per-player setting to the alarm setting).
Adding additional alarms is more advanced than worrying about more than one
volume per alarm.

The default per-alarm volume could be the average of all other alarms for that
player, or 50% if none.

2008-09-03 Thread ram

I'm having problems installing ipeng on a Qnap TS109 II. I've installed
it using SSOTS and it appears in the plugin settings in squeezecenter.

If I go to host/ipeng I get a blank page. If I go to settings for the
ipeng plugin I get...

404 Not Found: settings/plugins/iPeng/settings/basic.html

However I can on my iPhone see the now playing using a link from a post
in the main ipeng thread from this forum. And I can pause it and choose
a song from the album that is playing. If I try to go to home I get a
blank page.

I've got 7.2 squeezecenter
3G iphone
Macbook pro.

Any ideas?

Cheers

This is a fresh install? Or did you upgrade from an older version of
iPeng?Fresh install
BTW, I just recognize that I was wrong saying that your directory
structure looks fine, it doesn't have all the plugin parts (it should
have a directory "lib" under "server/Plugins/iPeng").Aha! I think we've found
the culprit. When I use the Extraction Wizard,
it shows me all the files, but when I actually extract, it only extracts
SOME of them (for instance, LIB is missing, as are all files under iPeng
except .DS_store). So I downloaded WinZip Eval version, same thing
happened. So I go over to my Vista machine, download iPeng052.zip, use
Vista, it's even worse! Only partial directory structure and no files
get Extracted. How bizarre is this?
Which version of iPeng is this?0.5.2
If this is the 0.5x I posted a few days ago you might want to install
the 0.52 and if it does not work install 0.5x on top of that.
Edit: So I was able to manually extract files one by one, and now
everything works. Thanks so much!!!

A while ago BBC had a prototype hardware device made that showed how

Yes, I do my ratings outside of Squeezecenter. So Custom Scan is

Hi Greg -
I want to be able to see the weather, scores, etc. whilst I'm listening

When the alarm goes off, SC 7.2 appears to not use the 'now playing'

changing this is beyond the scope of screensavers?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Configuring Multi Library with multiple folders

2008-09-03 Thread mr-b

Hi

I'm trying to configure Multi Library with different top-level music
folders for my music, for the kids music etc. and
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Setup_kids_room_SqueezeBox looked
relevant.

I've configured "My Music" for my existing library, then "Kids Music"
in a separate folder and "All Music" dependent library including them
both. But how do I get SC to scan the music that's in the "Kids Music"
library? (It currently shows 0 songs)

Also what does it mean when ML says "Choose a sub library of music to
activate:"? I want all libraries to be 'active' all the time.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Using Erland's SQLPlayList in KDF's AlarmPlugin

2008-09-03 Thread sk33ve

Ah ok, working much better now - there seems to be one exception - if I
create my own playlist (in this case I was wanting to create a version
of a regular playlist which randomises and also makes sure tracks
aren't repeated within 3 days), I'm having problems getting that into
the Favorites group.
In the WebUI the DynamicPlaylist->Random->For selected->... menu
doesn't give the favourites menu option.
I tried adding the playlist using the settings menu which seemed to add
it correctly (in so far as the checkbox stayed ticked when I returned to
the page), but it doesn't show up in the drop down.

I think I'm right in saying there are 2 concepts of Favorites at work
here... the Squeezecenter "favourites" and then the Dynamic Playlist
group "Favourites"? From what i can see the alarm drop down includes
playlists in the former, but the settings page includes them in the
latter I think?

I must admit I'm quite new to Dynamic Playlists as I've been waiting
for the alarm integration to get into it so it's probably a rookie
problem... so I apologise in advance if it is something "dumb"!

Thanks for the ongoing help - the new system is a really great step
forward!

It comes with old age, but I didn't see the installer pack, I used the
zip file!
I have now downloaded the installer pack and I did it directly to the
server and the appropriate install file. I double clicked the
installer and it installed. However, it does not appear to work when I
tested the plug-in, it said something along the lines of "failed to
parse", but the dialogue box disappears almost immediately, so it's
difficult to pick-up the exact notation.
I then went to the plug-in section of settings in SqueezeCenter and it
says Alien BBC (V2.00 beta5) plug-in not compatible with this version
of SqueezeCenter. (my version is 7.2 at the moment)

Details please.

What is the name of the file - youmay have dowenloadedd the wrong
file.

For SC 7.1 you will need
http://www.x2systems.com/alienbbc/alienbbc-windows-v2.01b1_7.1.zip

or the .exe
http://www.x2systems.com/alienbbc/AlienBBC-v2.01b1_7.1.exe

Why did you not use the installer .exe ?

What is the full path of where you unzipped the downloaded file ? you
did unzip the file ?

Details matter - sometimes it is just one character wrong and so lots
of exact and complete details.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC and Windows Home Server

Theres not a lot to tell really, I downloaded the zip files, I didn't
see an .exe file. According to the vendor of the server, I have to
download anything I wish to add to the server, to the main computer and
then transfer the file (if a zip file to extract the contents first), to
the "shares sofware" install file. Then turn off the server and reboot,
to effect an install. This I did, numerous times, but the Alien BBC
files just sit in the folder doing nothing. Now I accept I may have
done something wrong. I have no trouble with other installs, for other
programs but this one just stumps me.

1. Can you get the default skin to load (192.168.1.11:9000)
2. Can you access iPeng from your PC's browser under
192.16.1.11:9000/iPeng (NOT localhost:...)
3. Can you access iPeng from ANOTHER computer's browser under that
address?
4. Do you have any firewall software running?

The installation directory structure is correct.
