Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Java front end client
It's nice to see that someone finally implements a fat client that can be used on Linux. I've thought about doing this myself a few times, but I never got enough inspiration to actually do it. I've tried it briefly and found a few small problems: - Changing players seem to require a restart to take effect - Swedish characters aren't displayed correctly The album covers in the "Albums" menu felt a bit large on my 1680x1050 display. When I increased the number of albums shown on one page I think I would prefer to shrink the album covers instead of adding a scrollbar. If you are using Linux yourself, it would be really great it it was possible to dock in the Gnome upper right tray area and just show the splash screen when a new track starts to play. I'm not sure if this is possible to do from Java, but if it is, it would be a feature I would appreciate. Anyway, great work, I'm looking forward to future versions. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) 'My download page' (http://erland.isaksson.info/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=54086 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Java front end client
If anyone might be interested I wrote a java front end for basic music playing functionality. It uses CLI to control and query SqueezeCenter. A warning, I wrote this in about a week and the only testing it has undergone is me and my intoxicated buddies playing some tuned so expect a lot of bugs :) It does seem to have some potential though. Any feedback or problems feel free to let me know. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC Real Audio Stream Issue
The "ra" type works for me as I posted when playing a file in my music folder. The error can be ignored as it results in the no name in filetype entries. Do you have 3 "no-name" entries with mplayer.sh and are they enabled just like RTSP entries. Get a log of trying to play the ".ra" file with logging player.source set to INFO. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Thanks for a very useful plugin Peter. Unfortunately I couldn't find any installation instructions anywhere. Here's what worked for me (after a lot of tinkering): 1. Unzipped package 2. Copied SettingsManager to C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins 3. Stopped then started SqueezeCenter 4. Opened SqueezeCenter in the browser. Modified the path to include the path to the plugin: http://127.0.0.1:9000/Plugins/SettingsManager/HTML/EN/plugins/SettingsManager/control.html The rest was self explanatory. I'm wonder it's related to the Jump Back On Wake oddity that I am experiencing at the same time. I've now reinstalled SC7.3 and MusicInfo, deleting the prefs and setting the plugin up again. I've just browsed my favourites and played a few things from them (all BBC Radio stuff). Then I've navigated my local music collection and played a track, then created a MusicIP mix from it and pressed play (means that the track I started the mix from restarts). Once the MusicInfo screensaver has kicked in if I use the left arrow, instead of taking me back to the track I created the mix from within my music library I am taken back to a BBC radio item in favourites. That is wrong isn't it? A quick data point. I'm running 7.3 and the correct iPlayer version. After working fine all of a sudden attempting to play any stream started to give me an error, "playlist contains no data" (or something quite like that). I've had so many problems with 7.3 (Now Playing screen won't update, wrong song played, Jump Back on Wake doesn't) that I'm now reinstalling SC, so will post back if iPlayer still gives me problems afterwards.
