Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom*** plugins and upgrading from 6.5 to 7.X

2008-11-24 Thread erland

What file extensions do you have ?

The idea is:
- Browse configuration directory: Contains menus you have created your
self or menus you have modified. This should typically contain
*.cb.values.xml and *.cb.xml files

- Browse templates directory: Contains menu templates downloaded via
the Download links in the web interface, should be empty in a fresh 7.x
installation and will be filled if you download any menu template using
the download links in Custom Browse web interface.

- Context templates directory: Contains header/footer menu templates
downloaded via the Download links in the web interface, should be empty
in a fresh 7.x installation and will be filled if you download any
header/footer menu template using the download links in Custom Browse
web interface.

- Cache directory for images: Contains image files that can be shown in
the header of the artist, year, genre, playlist pages in the web
interface. Typically an empty directory that could be filled manually
or through Custom Scan LastFM scanning module.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SyncOptions: new feature: restore playlist after unsyncing

2008-11-24 Thread Kuben72

Hey, No problem. That's life when you work with programming. I have done
it for 20 years so I know all about it.

Disabling your plugin did help but now it always starts the backup
music when it rings! It seems like it takes too long to get a internet
radio streaming so it turns it of and starts the backup sound. So your
code is not the only code with bugs in it!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

2008-11-24 Thread heidtheba

I have previously reported FFWD problems with iplayer, which seem to
come and go without any pattern I can fathom.

e.g.1: when I try to FFWD this stream (on Boom or SoftSqueeze):

iplayer://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/3/auth/iplayer_streaming_http_mp4/b00fkhpj

--> I get the message "cannot seek with unknown duration".

e.g.2: FFWD this stream:-
iplayer://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/3/auth/iplayer_streaming_http_mp4/b00fkhwx

--> gives the message "cannot seek with unknown bitrate".

e.g.3: this stream works fine?-
iplayer://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/3/auth/iplayer_streaming_http_mp4/b00fhqys

Edit:
all streams above can be FFWD using the web interface with no
problems!?
Strangely , when I do this, I can sometimes then be able to FFWD ok
using the Boom remote! it seems very random when FFWD works and when it
doesnt.

Yeah, there are definitely some bugs in the restore playlist code -- the

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] World Clock : Upgraded to SC7 Doesn't work

2008-11-24 Thread aubuti

The plugin interface has been completely changed in SC 7.x, so plugins
need to be updated to work with SC 7.x. First, check the plugin pages
to see if the author has released a 7.x compatible version. If not, you
could try emailing the author to see if an updated version is
forthcoming.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

Hi Greg

I've just upgraded Super Date Time, and when I click on Settings from
the Plugins menu I see: "404 Not Found:
settings/plugins/SuperDateTime/settings/basic.html "

I tried deleting the whole SuperDateTime folder and reinstalling (and
restarting too) but no joy. I'm on SC 7.2.1.

Anything else I can try?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicInfoSCR 4.3.5

2008-11-24 Thread the_arm

Thanks for the prompt reply, Michael!

Regarding the alarm bell: any chance I could see this as an enhancement
for a future version of MusicInfoSCR, similar to what you have already
in place for the sleep timer icon? Or is that out of scope for your
plugin? Clearly, I don't have a feel for who uses your plugin or for
what purposes. This is probably outside of the norm, though, since I'm
using it simply because of what, arguably, is a lack of functionality in
the Date/Time screensaver.

Killing the defaults for top left / bottom left would be handy, too!
:-)

Cheers
-arm

I've installed SC7 and everything is (mostly) working. I noticed that
the settings for Custom Browse ask for 4 directories (from memory:
templates, context templates, image cache, and one other.) In my 6.5
installation I think everything was in just one directory. Which files
from the 6.5 installation should go in which directory? (OK, I figure
the files with "templates" go in the template dir, but not sure about
the context template dir.)

BTW, I did a clean install of SC7, not on top of 6.5.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts

2008-11-24 Thread Kuben72

thats easy. Just open the file strings.txt with a editor like winvi and
start adding your own translation.
Remember to send your translation to the author of the plugin so he can
release it to others from your country.

EDIT: And now I see thats not what your asking. Just change the
language in SC to swedish or german and the language in the plugin will
follow.

Greg, just a heads up. For those of us using the new Plugin Installer
the MHCPAN folder was moved to "Cache" folder. I got your plugin to
work by putting second copy of the MHCPAN folder in the Plugin folder.
Maybe you should adjust your plugin to also look in the Cache folder
for the pearl code. (treebuilder.pm)

I tried to get this working on my (ubuntu) squeezecenter-server, and get
the same empty lists as previous posters, so I've tried the SocketPolicy
plugin. I see this error in the squeezecentre logs:

Code:

I read and have the utmost respect for the fact that you are not
developing, and thus not supporting this skin actively. I'm really just
curious how well it works. The default interface is a bit clunky..

Thanks!
