Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts

2009-01-23 Thread LanceInMN

I have used weathertime as a default for my Squeezeboxes, but recently
have not been getting forecasts. I have tried updating to the latest
version of weathertime (152), but still do not get any forecasts. My
logs show the following message:

500 Can't connect to api.wunderground.com:80 (Bad hostname
'api.wunderground.com')
[09-01-23 22:12:46.1425] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1122) Warning:

server while loading data: ERROR While getting resource:
http://api.wunderground.com/auto/wui/geo/WXCurrentObXML/index.xml?query=55113
:

I've tested the web url in my browser and get back weather data. I have
also upgraded to SqueezeCenter 7.3.2-24695 since the problem has
started, but without change. The Squeezeboxes can still play internet
radio, so I'm not sure what is preventing weathertime to connect to
wunderground.

I'm running SqueezeCenter on a QNAP TS-509 file server.

Hey, all my Birthdays have come at once! Many thanks, Erland.

I've got 1 - 4 working a treat. I'm not too bothered about browsing

steps later from your published examples, should I feel the need for
them...?

No. 5 will come a bit later, now that I'm ok to do more ripping, as I
only did a handful of discs until I was sure of my tagging scheme, with

[SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicInfoScr - no bitrate display for AACPlus streams

2009-01-23 Thread Pete7874

I am using SqueezeCenter 7.3.2 with MusicInfoScr 4.3.7.

I have a variable called 'KBPS' configured to display using
MusicInfoScr plugin. It shows the correct value on all local content
and all internet streams except AACPlus streams where it just shows
"0KBPS".

This used to work properly in older versions of SquezeeCenter (7.1).

Just a quick note of appreciation for Gordon's fantastic effort on this
plugin!, after it's *very humble* almost beginnings in my hands :-)

I've only just got back to catching up on the thread, and have noted a
couple of things.

Yup, first - the copyright thing. It was me that initially slapped GPL
on it, as an attempt to keep the thing alive and in development by
others. The package as it now stands has had such a major contribution
from Gordon - I have absolutely no issues in him changing terms of the
copyright and license as he sees fit!

(Gordon, just put a tiny mention to me 'Adrian C' and
http://www.adrianonline.net as the rest of the wordpress deep link is
now broken - and also Max Spicer without whose work I wouldn't have
even got started..)

Secondly, his support - this fellow has being doing much of this
wonderful stuff unpaid, and a few coppers/$ thrown in, say, a Paypal
account of Gordon's has recently been suggested. Very good idea, I
think. :-)

Come on folks, it's worth more that those flashlight iPhone Apps on the
Apple Store. We're all saving the planet using this, and a plea for
Logitech?...

"You have gotta incorporate this somehow into the standard plugins
somehow. It's now become pretty useful!"

Like the sleep button held down feature :-)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Configuring Multi Library with multiple folders

2009-01-23 Thread ralph.r

Hi.

Where do I find the button to create a new library? In the
squeezeCenter settings under "Advanced/Multi Library" and
"Plugins/Multi Library (Settings)" I only find the following
configuration options:

- Library directory
- Library templates directory
- Refresh on save
- Rescan refresh
- Startup refresh
- Ask for library
- Custom Browse menus
- Filename encoding

I set the Library directory to an empty folder, the templates directory
to the folder "squeezecenter/Plugins/MultiLibrary/Templates". In the
server.log I do not find any errors when restarting squeezeCenter.

Thanks,

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: InguzDSP for 7.3.x

2009-01-23 Thread sellars

Hello,
I am running
Inguz EQ (v0.9.30), Squeezecenter Version: 7.3.2 - 24695 on Windows XP
- EN - cp1252
with 2 receivers and one SB3.

Once I install the plugin, I see a copy of

lame.exe
socketwrapper.exe
InguzDSP.exe
flac.exe

spawn in task manager whenever I play a track. So if I play a playlist
of 10 tracks, there will be 10 copies of each process showing up in
task manager.
At first I though it was due to me running Squeezecenter from the
command line, but the processes even continued to spawn after I
disabled the plugin via Squeezecenter and also after disabling all
non-standard, third party ones.
I had to remove all installed files from the EQ and DSP before my
system returned to normal again.
I am running Squeezecenter from Squeezetray now - same issue.
Also, the spawned processes do not die after shutting down Squeezcenter
- I had to kill the processes manually.
Does anyone else see this?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] squeezeslave running in background?

2009-01-23 Thread snarlydwarf

If you start it by appending an & to the command line, it will run in
background. This is usually sufficient to keep it running even when
the xterm that started it is killed or exited.

With some apps you may need to add 'nohup' to the start of the command
line... this is because when the shell exits it is supposed to send a
HUP to children to tell them that you "hung up" the session (as in
hanging up a phone call) and that they should shut down nicely. In
practice, I rarely use nohup, so I doubt you need to use it. (Most
programs ignore the HUP signal or use it as a clue to reread their
config files, not to exit.)

Check WebUI Setting/Advanced/FileTypes

The RTSP settings are for RealAudio. If none are disabled then Flac
will be used by default.

To minimise CPU usage - Disable RTSP->FLAC and RTSP->MP3 - but this
will require a good network.

To minimise network usage by usingh MP3 instead of Flac disable
RTSP->FLAC and RTSP->WAV. This will require CPU.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC rebuffering on DS207+

2009-01-23 Thread pvmel...@hotmail.com

I'm running squeezeCenter on my synology DS207+, with the AlienBBC
plugin.
Works ok except that it constantly rebuffers the radio channels.
I understand it might be related to the format that i use to send the
data to the squeezebox overloading the CPU on the 207+. Funnily enough
radio 4 works fine the whole time, all the others rebuffer.

Does anyone know how to tell what format is being used (flac, mp3, etc)
to transcode the realaudio input stream? I can't find anything in the
GUI.

And how to change it to a format that might be less CPU intensive?

thx - i;d really like to get this running (or my wife will kill me for
buying it! :) )

[SlimDevices: Plugins] squeezeslave running in background?

2009-01-23 Thread bassa

Hi all,

I think this is a bit a stupid question, but i just can't find the
answer here on the forum or google.

I would like to let squeezeslave run in background, but when i close

Could someone explain how i can do this? (or just give the link... :$)

The ideal situation for me would be to start squeezeslave when i boot

OK, could you check you SqueezeCenter settings under
"Settings-Advanced->Performance" and set "Artwork reresampling" to
"resizing (faster, lower quality)".
This sounds to my like your server really busies out resampling the
artwork. iPeng is using different artwork sizes from SC and SBC so this
can be an issue whenever you do a clear and rescan.
It has nothing to do with iPeng's caching but is related to the caching
on the server itself.

Last night I left the iPhone on all night and it has cached some of my

network very quickly and gives me some of my music quickly and other
music it goes into the "loading" mode for over a minute. It seems like
it is still caching my music library. If I look at the album view, all
the albums appear to be present in the list but only 11/300 have

I did not uninstall SC or delete any directories. Just a normal upgrade

After the upgrade Inguz was not working, so I deleted the InguzEQ

The hi-rez problem is understandable, because of the new SoX

Anyone got Inguz working with mp3 in 7.3.2
