Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Inguzeq settings page blank

2009-01-31 Thread SAL

Just as an update to this issue, I don't think the EQ function is
working at all on my duet. Not getting any response when changing
equilizer settings including balance. I can't see any inguz processes
running (in windows xp). I am using the latest version of Inguz. In
checking the plugin forum, the only potential thing I could find is
whether I have installed the plugin into the correct directory
(C:\program files\squeezecenter\server\plugins\InguzEQ). Is this
correct as none of the other installed plugins seem to be installed
here.

Cheers

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00

2009-01-31 Thread bpa

Nothing has changed in the Plugin in realtion to capturing audio and
feeding is as PCM to SC. All the updates related to SC changes -
mainly setup.

Use the PC recorder accessory to record some of the audio (ideally use
a benchmark such as playing a podcast from net so that audio playback
on PC, on recording and on SC can be compared).

Do you get the same distorted sound when played back using WMP ? If
WMP playback of record audio then problem is in PC audio setup. If not
then problem is in SC setup.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00

2009-01-31 Thread Pungh0Li0

This plugin was working for me last summer. I just upgraded to 1.04 with
the downloader since I'm using SC 7.3.2.
Now it is extremely distorted and the volume is very high, I turned
down the volume in the recorder cp to nearly zero but it's still very
distorted.
I tried on another computer (soundblaster card) and it works fine.

Any ideas?
Thanks, Joe

What version of SC? - 7.3.2
What sort of PC and audio (e.g. laptop, integrated audio )? - Laptop,
with RealTek AC97 driver
What sort of player? - Duet
Does you PC have any other audio sources which could be "active" such
as microphone, something connected to line-in, Tuner card? - No other
sources were active.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Inguzeq settings page blank

2009-01-31 Thread SAL

I have just installed the Inguzeq plugin and everything seemed to be ok
(I can access and modify on my duet controller) but when I try to
access the settings page on the web interface, I just get a blank
screen. I have maually tried to open the index.html file that the
settings link is trying to open and eventually get a page of html
script.
I amy running version 7.3.2 of squeezecenter. I thought it might
relate to my version of NET framework so I uninstalled and reinstalled
but has not made any difference.
Anybody any thoughts?

Cheers

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: muso (beta)

2009-01-31 Thread jezbo

It has come to my attention that in certain scenarios muso can cause
unwanted side effects to your SqueezeCenter (SC) database.

When muso pushes a song file to a SC device, SC will implicitly add
that song to its database if the full path given to it by muso is not
registered within SC already.

Muso is not to be viewed as another skin, it is a 3rd party app that
gives the user the opportunity to push song files to SC devices that
were not pulled from the SC database - but instead were pulled from a
folder scan or imported from iTunes.

For one of my beta testers this actually caused a problem with many
duplicates being registered in SC. This can happen if you have an SC
database which uses drive mappings for song file paths, and you use
muso to scan folders by UNC path, or vice-versa. When muso pushes a
song file to SC, it will not recognise the fact that it's the same song
as another entry in the database which uses a different path mechanism,
and so will register it again.

Therefore I strongly recommend users NOT to mix UNC paths with drive
mappings across muso and SqueezeCenter - always use either one or the
other. If you view SC as the master repository and only import to muso
from SqueezeCenter and never do folder scans, you should not have any
problem, however.

Also, if you do use drive mappings and the machine running muso is not
the same machine that is running SqueezeCenter, please ensure both use
the same drive letters to point to the same root.

Haven't seen the email but you can read about it at
http://www.sirius.com/sirlockin

But it does look like you can keep "Free" radio if you renew or have a
lifetime subscription.

You know? I bought my lifetime subscription ($400) a little over two
years ago, and while it hasn't paid off yet, it's getting pretty close
and now this streaming change is really making the purchase worthwhile

they must pay a premium to access what I assume will be a 128k only

Run VLC player on your "localhost" with the switches noted at the top of

you should find that you can browse your video files from the
squeezebox, play, pause, stop, etc either with the squeezebox or as

Is it just Moose doing this or is SqueezeCenter showing the cover as
well?

I had a similar thing happen when I had a single song with it's artwork
stored in the music folder that was not in a subdirectory(s) of it's
own. The artwork for that track seemed to get used for any thing that
did not have embedded artwork.

Removing the image file from the root music folder SqueezeCenter points
at stopped it happening for me.

Hardly translatable in non english languages without requiring lots of
other words to disambiguate the two actions (not easy to read on the

It'd be better to use different wordings.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Playlist Manager v4.0 released

2009-01-31 Thread Phil Meyer
I've uploaded version 4.0 of Playlist Manager to my website
(http://www.hergest.demon.co.uk/Music/music.shtml).

This is also available from my repository, if you prefer to use Extension
Downloader (http://www.hergest.demon.co.uk/Music/slim/repository.xml). I think
Playlist Manager has been added to the Recommended Plugins, but this only
contains the previous version 3.1 - that repository needs updating.

This new version includes:

o Added support for Browse Menus.

It's now possible to add tracks to playlists from the SqueezeCenter Browse
menus, by drilling into the track information and selecting Playlist Manager.
It's also possible to configure the Add button to bring up the Playlist Manager
from this page, and I've incorporated menu actions to add the track to the end
(or next) of the current playlist. I believed that this would also work for
the SqueezeBox Controller, but it doesn't yet - work in progress, I'm afraid.

o Added a settings screen.

Configure the quick access playlists (by default these are "Bad Music", "Bad
Tags" and "Morning Alarm").

o Fixed bug whereby pressing add when browsing list of playlists would hang
the server.

You can now use right-arrow, Play or Add buttons on any Playlist Manager menu,
without causing SqueezeCenter to hang.

o Added some Danish translations

Thanks goes to Kurt Poulsen for his contribution.

2009-01-31 Thread Mnyb

Hi more oddity's with 7.4 .

I sent a playlist from my SqueezePlay to my SBR .

The playlist in Question was 24/96 files, then SC went into rebuffering
general slowness etc.
I kinda get it SP can do 24/96 wo transcoding when sending this to an
SBR transcoding must be fired up, then something goes awol.

But it would continue to get buffer problems (at random intervalls not
often ) after I changed SBR player to something else ? fixed after
reboot of server.

Btw transcoding flac works ok on my box, maybe some test with sending
around transcoded playlist's is a thing to do ?
