Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2009-03-06 Thread dazbarber

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have followed the steps you suggested and it works - the computer
stays hibernated.

Unfortunately, SC is now unresponsive when the computer is restarted
(when I right click the tray icon and choose 'open squeezecenter', a
new tab opens in my browser but just hangs on 'loading'.

I'm assuming that it must be something to do with SCPowertool.exe
then?

I think that a reboot will get SC working again. I hope so! :)

Thanks,

Daz

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] MusicInfoSCR 4.3 - now with theOriginal Boom Booklet Layout

2009-03-06 Thread Michael Herger
great plug in - lots of opportunities for tweaking! Just one question,
if I set my font to Three Line can you actually get 3 lines of text on
the screen of the Boom? If so can you support it in your plug in?

Use custom fonts in MIS instead: tell it not to use SC's settings. You'll then
be able to configure any of the left/center/right times top/middle/button
elements with the font of your choice. You could even configure it to use three
elements on the right, but only two on the left etc.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux

2009-03-06 Thread erikl

Thanks for this great plugin. I have been working really hard to get it
working with my hardware. I have a Asus p5n7a-vm with built in
soundcard. Unfortunately I was unable to use arecord with any of the
standard alsa devices. My sound card is not able to capture from the
output only from mic and line in.

But I found a solution in the man pages of arecord.

arecord -d 10 -f cd -t wav -D copy foobar.wav
will record foobar.wav as a 10-second, CD-quality wave
file, using
the PCM copy (which might be defined in the user’s
.asoundrc file
as:
pcm.copy {
type plug
slave {
pcm hw
}
route_policy copy
}

So I added the example to my /etc/asound.conf and set wavin:copy as my
favorite in squeezecenter. Now it works!

2009-03-06 Thread bpa

I'm sorry but you will have to provide more details - I presumed

 yes it's all right...

That everything was working.

You must first use Accessories/ Recorder and determine which device
(for example: Wave, What Your hear, Stereo Mix) on your PC record the
PC audio.

When you have found the device name - please write a post - picture do
not explain enough of your problem. If necessary write in simple
Italian and use Google ( http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en )
to translate.

Which distro are you using ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with WaveInput plugin

2009-03-06 Thread bpa

Just to make sure.
1. While playing music (e.g. Radio station on WMP) You recorded a
session of audio using Recorder on What you Hear.
2. You played back the recorded file using Windows Media Player and you
heard the audio that was playing a few minutes before.

If the above is correct then there are two possibilities
* Incorrect version or installation
* Wrong wavin device number.

The version of the plugin you installed depends on the version of SC
you are running.
What version of SC are you running ?
What version of WaveInput plugin is installed - see Settings/Plugins
How did you install the plugin - did you use Extension Downloader or
manual download and unzip ?

To check the wavin device number - follow the instructions in the
following post - it assumes XP and plugin was installed using Extension
Downloader. If you are not using XP or you installed the plugin by
another method, then different instructions are needed.

Update: A restart has got SC working again. I've had to disable the
ServerPowerTool plugin now because, if I have it running using
SCPowertool.exe as designed, I can no longer hibernate. If I remove
SCPowertool.exe and use the alternate tool, SC will not restart after
hibernation. A fix would be gladly welcomed as this tool is a
 must-have! Thanks.
OK, I've put the previous version of SCPowerTool back up at the head of
this thread:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7083d=1236360737
Try that version and report back if the computer stays hibernated or
not. Also, please post the SCPowerTool log. This should be
SCPowerTool.log and should be located in the same directory that you
put SCPowerTool.exe.

Thanks for helping to debug this.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2009-03-06 Thread dazbarber

OK, I've installed the previous version and have had *some* success when
entering hibernation but also a few failures. I suspect that it may all
come down to which settings I choose and the 'keep alive timer'. It
certainly doesn't stay hibernated if I hibernate to SN and then ask
ServerPowerControl to bring the SB back out of SN. I'll try some more
permutations over the weekend (although I won't have much time for
computer/squeezebox related dabblings).
I've attached my log file (which will include some successes).
Thanks for helping!

Will the app work on SC 7.0.1? If so, it's not working for me. I have
tried manually entering the IP and autodetect. I does not show my

after playing all day. However nearly all my music is FLAC.
Only installed Inguz EQ last night, everything worked, Left, Right,
Sweep etc, Balance would move the music from the center to one K-Horn
 and then to the other.

Before installing this official version of SC 7.3.2 I uninstalled the
previous nightly 7.3.2, deleted the cache and everything to do with
Squeezecenter. I had to re-enter all the settings, but experience has
shown that all the plugins (Server Power Control, MIP, Spicefly
Sugarcube and Lazy Search) will work from a fresh install rather than
 an upgrade.

Well, my collection is mp3 only, and so Inguz seems to convert them
on-the-fly, using the aforementioned executeables. A fresh install of
SC 7.3.2 did not work, but downgrade to SC7.3.1 did. I could see that
the handling of child processes is done differently between the two
versions: in 7.3.1, stopping SC will also kill the inguz process and
the other exe's. In 7.3.2 these processes are left behind running after
shutdown.

Let's see what 7.3.3 or 7.4 bring.
