Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC Alien not working
You have 4 alternatives which were created by flipflip. One of the has to be copied to a file called /usr/local/bin/mplayer Which one you use depends on your system. I think ds and ts ending are for synology and Another brand (can't rememeber) relating to model numbers. Your Linkstation is neither. the -fp ending is for fixed point this will depending on the processor in the your NAS. If your CPU has not got a Floating Point unit (FPU) it will not be able to decode the RealAudio streams fast enough - in which case you need to use the -fp version. First see which ones will run (i.e. produce a banner) on your system. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56355 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Moving SqueezeCenter Recover Trackstat
Hi Erland, Apologies if you find a similar thread somewhere else, I thought I had finished and posted it but can't seem to find it anywhere. I did add to this thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52937page=3 but didn't want to hijack it to find a solution to my issue hence starting this one. The issue I have is having recently migrated my SC from unix to windows I wanted to reimport old trackstat info into my new build. SC is now scanning a remote smb share rather than a local unix path. The urls from my backups looks like this: urlfile%3A%2F%2F%2Fmnt%2Fstorage%2FFTPRoot%2FRoot%2FTUNEZ%2FA%2520Tribe%2520Called%2520Quest%2FBeats%2C%2520Rhymes%2520And%2520Life%2F01%2520-%2520Phony%2520Rappers.mp3/url which reads: urlfile:///mnt/storage The urls in NEW trackstat info with my current config look like this: urlfile%3A%2F%2F%2F%2FAtlantis%2Fstorage%2FFTPRoot%2FRoot%2FTunes%2FA%2520Tribe%2520Called%2520Quest%2FBeats%2C%2520Rhymes%2520And%2520Life%2F01%2520-%2520Phony%2520Rappers.mp3/url which reads: urlfile:atlantis/storage. I would have expected the '/' in the unix path but am surprised to see them throughout the smb unc? Shouldn't there be any '\' in there? The reason I ask is that I seem to have problems importing the old data. The import seems to go OK but no info is imported and I'm wondering if I'm messing the data up somewhere. -- BodgeIT Whether you think you can or... you think you can't, either way you are right! I could kick myself for not finding it sooner. Fantastic work. Hi Indypants, cool name, so glad you like it.. :-) 1) I'd love the ability to search for a list of words, and for those words to be matched seperately in any order against any tag, including comments and genre, and using a logical AND. Yes, actually regex searching's been on my to do list for quite a while now. It will get done though. Be rather handy. Incidentally the searching feature does search some tags, although not all. Trouble is the more tags i add support for, the larger moose's cached data gets, so the slower moose gets. 2) When searching, it would be really nice if the song results pane was organised in exactly the same way as the now-playing panel - with the same customisable columns. At the moment its hard to tell which of the resulting songs are by which artists without individually selecting them. YES ! Actually that was one of the reasons I recently re-coded the playlist control. Only downside would be the tracks wouldnt be displayed across the control, only down. Probably not a major issue. Server are installed on a NAS: Netgear ReadyNAS Duo 1TB(2x1TB). Router is a new : D-Link 655. gigabit switch Conneted NAS with Dlink and run player Wireless. How many albums do you have? Does your ReadyNAS have a fixed IP address or do you use DHCP and turn it on/off often? 1. Regarding the speed issue. This is most likely due to the ReadyNAS. ReadyNAS is simply pretty slow as an SC server. iPeng needs to retrieve the album and artist data from the server to work and that can take time if you have a big library. As soon as that library is synced with iPeng (you will now it is finished when the album artwork on the Albums browse page starts loading) it should start to be faster. iPeng will cache your data so you will only have to re-load it whenever you change your library (e.g. by adding albums). Also: Please open the SqueezeCenter Web interface, go to Settings and there check for Advanced-Performance-Artwork resampling and use the faster setting. ReadyNAS is very slow doing the artwork resampling so the whole server will be less performant while it prepares the artwork for iPeng. 2. iPeng doesn't find the server: That will typically happen when iPeng cannot reach your server on port 3483. However, this is a bit unlikely if it's only sometimes. If you have changing IP addresses, please try to enable (in iPeng) Settings-Forget last server, this should fix that. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=61428 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Ahh, yes, sounds like a problem then.. How old's your server build ? Is it an official release, or a nightly ? One thing that usually fixes artwork and scanning issues is a complete SC wipe and rescan. Might be worth giving that a go. There's also the fast-scan flag in the settings. You could try flipping that.. I do have 9000 open but Moose and SC are on the same machine, does it matter? Moose uses port 9000 to access the server's web interface, from which it gets artwork. If the server and client are on the same machine, I wouldnt have though you'd need it open, but it's possible.. Does the artwork in the now-playing window work ok ? (again this will default to amazon grabbing if there is a problem getting artwork from the server - you can check where the artwork came from via right-clicking the now playing artwork and selecting the info item) So I should keep doing a manual scan until it grabs all album art from Amazon? No, it should grab all the artwork from SC.. The amazon grabbing's just a little extra feature that fills in SC's blanks.. It's quite slow grabbing from amazon, and some of their artwork's incorrect, so using it as a main source is a bad idea. It's possible turning on moose's logging system and doing a scan will throw something up. How could look this up? 5K albums is a lot. It will take a while to sync those. 1.1 will be better, at least if you use SC 7.3.2 or newer, but it will still be several minutes with any system, SC is not that fast. I don't have a ReadyNAS, but I'd expect it to be slower from what I see in reports so it can easily be 10-min minutes until all data is synced. Please note that this is not really an iPeng limitation, a SqueezeboxController will also not perform very fast with a ReadyNAS and a library the size of yours. The problem here is the CPU in the ReadyNAS. Did you try to change that Artwork resample setting? As soon as the library is synced and the artwork has been loaded once, there should be no speed issues regardless of whether you use a PC or the ReadyNAS. For comparison, I just checked against a huge database with 24.000 tracks and that one took around 15 min to synchronize. But that was from a fast server, yet through a slow mobile phone connection. Regarding the server detection: You need to allow UDP broadcast for the subnet that your server is on plus the server has to be on the same subnet as the iPod or SqueezeCenter's server detection does not work. I've yet to successfully keep the SC playlist in step with MJ for more than a couple of songs. The SC playlist gets corrupted after that. [SlimDevices: Plugins] CustomBrowse: Custom Tags as add'l track details on Duet Controller broken?
Id like too see my (custom) ORIGYEAR, BPM, and INITIALKEY tags in the Duet Controller's track details screen, at least when doing a RIGHT from the Now Playing screen. I followed the Adding a browse menu and '\Adding to Now Playing right menu\ instructions in the Wiki' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Setup_support_for_custom_tags#Adding_to_Now_Playing_right_menu) to add ORIGYEAR as a first step. The Browse Menu and add'l track details Original Year work fine for the SB3 and SoftSqueeze, but on the Duet Controller I have the Browse Menu but no additional track details. I don't want to re-implement the track details on the Controller, instead Custom Browse should just add its custom items since there is a API to do this now. Since I'm barely using the Controller myself I haven't prioritized to implement this yet, but this might change since the next version of iPeng will support plugin menus. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) 'My download page' (http://erland.isaksson.info/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=61441 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC Alien not working
How did you edit the maplyer.sh file ? Did you use an editor on the Linkstation or did you transfer to PC, edit and then transfer back. If you did the PC method then it is likely format, permission and ownership have been changed and there is something incompatible. However, think it is a NAS and since you has the /bin/sh issues it is likely you will have another common NAS issue. This issues means you have to edit the Alien custom-convert.conf file and it bypasses mplayer.sh If you can edit file on the NAS (e.g. using something likew vi or nano) do the following. 1. Edit the file custom-convert.conf in Alien directory 2. on the RTSP lines change the mplayer.sh to mplayer 3. on the RTSP lines change the /dev/fd/3 to - which is minus sign. 4. Close file and save 5. Restart SC 6. Check Settings/Advanced/Filetyes that RTSP entries now have mplayer and not mplayer.sh If you edit the file on the PC - use ls -l to get the file ownership and permission of custom-covert.conf file. Edit the file as above (on Windows use something like Wordpad but Notepad or Word) and then make sure the updated file has the same permissions and ownership as the original. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56355 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
