Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR-Blaster Volume Control
Mhh. I won't be too affirmative, but I do the same as you, with volume fixed at 100% in player preferences; I think the Classic shouldn't display the volume bar when its output is fixed, it's just misleading. I can do this with my system: i) lower the volume (on the amp, with the SBC remote) and the SBC shows its volume bar going from 100 to, say, 90. ii) wait a few seconds, iii) lower the volume again; at that moment the SBC will pretend again going down from 100. -- epoch1970 epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63486 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Glad you like it. Thinking of it again, I believe there may be issues with global vs. per player actions: if we have such "centerlets" -as in droplets, servlets..- it would be a bore to have to parameterize them before the drop. Also I guess there are sequential vs. parallel (background) processing issues: imagine you want to switch to SN and launch a DB rescan during that time. You can drop two centerlets, but if processing is strictly sequential as for a playlist, either you take off to SN and rescan when your player is back, or you stay aground until rescan has ended... :( Maybe the idea won't prove practical in the end? > As to your suggestion that SrvrPowerCtrl webUI actions be drag-able to > the playlist...off hand, I'm not sure how to accomplish this. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC on Synology
Hi everyone I have seen quite a few posts about how to fix AlienBBC plugin issues, but I have no clue about Linux, so I'm a bit lost. I have installed the AlienBBC Plugin on my Synology DS408 using Extension downloader. Then turned off Squeezecenter and turned it back on. AlienBBC shows up under internet Radio and has a settings page. All the submenus are there. RTSP is listed under filtypes and mplayer.sh is listed as the decoder. So far so good. When I play Virgin MP3 streams through AlienBBC everything works fine. When I play BBC Realaudio streams, the stream plays / counts the seconds, but I get no sound. Any suggestions? The BBCiPlayer plugin does not use mplayer so doing anything with mplayer would not affect BBCiPlayer plugin ability to play streams. Hi. For me AlienBBC 2.5 works great on SC7.3.2/debian linux. I have noticed that, probably due to connection failures or timeouts, my machine can pile up inactive mplayer/flac processes over time. They take no CPU, but a little memory and I am looking to make the headless server as reliable as possible. I guess I didn't wait for the TCP idle timeout, which is stock -at over 2hrs I guess. Will the processes go away after the timeout ? Is there a recommended setting/admin measure to keep the number of mplayer/flac processes from bulging ? I repeat, the plugin works great. I love it and I am grateful for it. -- epoch1970 epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63432 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Non-Alien BBC?

The WMA (except Woreld Service) use 48kbps streams and RealAudio use 64kBits/sec stream. WMA and RealAudio use different codecs and so can sound different depending on content (e.g. pop/rock, classical, speech). The higher quality 128kbps MP3 streams are not available outside of the UK. If you want to create an SC or SN favorites (as sometime SC provided URls are out of date) for the WMA BBC streams - these BBC pages list the URLs - make sure you use the Windows Media section. http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/finding_programmes/real_wma_streams and World service WMA http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help/streaming_programmes/local_radio_streams -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63461 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
