Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Upgrade to 7.3.3 broke Squeezeslave

Ralphy:
No luck, I'm sorry to say. The new Squeezeslave player only plays
Internet radio and other Mp3 streams, not any FLAC streams.

I guess I install the 7.3.3 patch first, then install a 0.9 binary. I
may have questions while I do this. Thanks for your time and trouble.

Good.
Some day I have to find a way around these update issues.
A lot of Apps have this. For some reason, data can get corrupted with
and App update, sometimes it causes crashes right away, sometimes just
some other quirks.

One of my devices, for example, right now has a config data set with a
corrupted (manually added) server in the config. Doesn't matter in this
case, iPeng just doesn't find the server, but I have no idea how it got
there.

Only happens with AppStore updates, never if I manually update a
development build.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you're right about this. I'm very
interested in stepping up to new products if they find a way to
integrate and improve upon the excellent work you've done.

Hi mr_hyde,

I've been using your 'moods' plugin for SSOTS 3.18 and gave filters a
try as well. Had a bit of a problem with filters though and have
'chicken'd out' of trying again for now. I'll re-visit them in a while -
need to learn more about MusicIP/fingerprinting in Windows first.

You need to tell bash (the shell) where genpuid is, since it's not
in your path.

To do this, use "./" - this tells the shell that the program is in
the same directory that you are in.

So from within the genpuid directory, you'd run this command:
./genpuid [my-key] -r -logex -m3lib=cache.m3lib -archive /music

[SlimDevices: Plugins] help needed installing GenPUID on linux

2009-07-04 Thread raven22

I'm trying to install genpuid on my debian server (running MIP headless)
but the instructions in the wiki skip a few steps.

I downloaded the genpuid 1.4, unzipped it in a directory. From within
this directory i run:
genpuid [my-key] -r -logex -m3lib=cache.m3lib -archive /music

But as a return i get: -bash: genpuid: command not found

This is probably due to my limited linux knowledge but could someone
help me getting further?

The NAS is the QNAP TS239 Pro.

I did some experiments.

When not embedding the art work in the .flac files, but only adding a
.gif to the folder: it works!

When embedding the art work in all .flac files, it works when the
embedded art work type is PNG, but it doesn't work when type is JPG.

I used the 'Jaikoz alias' tool to add the art work to the .flac files.
I really do not know why some end up as embedded PNG and others end up
as embedded JPG. But only when it is PNG, it works ok.

So I do not know if this is a bug of the 'Jaikoz alias' tool, or a bug
of SqueezeCenter.

All I know is when removing all the embedded art work, leaving the .gif
art work in each album folder, it works.
So I will have to remove them, which is a lot of work :-(

By the way, when looking with some other tool inside the .flac files
(media Range alias), I do not see the JPG type artwork, but the PNG
types I can see. So I think the 'Jaikoz alias' tool does something wrong
when embedding JPG art work.

Anyway, thanks for helping.

and if MIP would be continued, it should be possible.

If i understand it right, it is already possible with recipes.

Nevertheless, recipes are only available in the windows gui version of

You can define recipes also for the linux version and through

through headless mode.

A workaround could be through a modified custom skip plugin.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SC 7.3.3 Display Asterisk Caller ID Plugin for Extension Downloader

2009-07-04 Thread jaerc

G'day

I use SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 and did install all the necessary plugins
with the extension downloader tool so far.

Now I have seen a pretty usefull plugin to display the Asterisk Caller
ID for inbound calls. Unfortunately there is just the Perl code listed.
I got an asterik for incoming calls and it would be great to get the
Caller ID display on my transporter too.

Is there a plugin available for the extension downloader or can
somebody help me to create a plugin for this feature?
I'm not a developer and have no skills regarding the perl language.

Maybe it's possible to convert the code described in this blog to get
an extension downloader plugin?

http://blog.gramels.info/blog/archives/50-display-asterisk-callerID-on-a-squeezebox-slimp3-using-a-slimserver.html

Any ideas are welcome.
Many thanks,
Chris

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC - fails on Slimp3

2009-07-04 Thread bpa

If you only changes the line RTSP MP3 - it will only afect RTSP formats
and not any other format MP3 - so yor MP3 problem is coincidental and
unrelated.

You should check whether you made other changes to your system and not
just the RTSP one.

You can disable a plugin from settings and rebbot to easily "undo" the
RTSP change.

If you are using 7.3.x or higher and streams that needs transcoding to

try Softsqueeze 3.8 or 3.9b1.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC - fails on Slimp3

2009-07-04 Thread Gingermagic

Changing the bitrate on my helped to make AlienBBC work on my SlimP3,
but now normal music on my system (MP3's) struggle to play properly.
They pause regularly (usually once or twice within a song) and have to
re buffer themselves to catch up.

Could someone tell me what the line used to be so that I can see if
changing it back fixes this issue. Does anyone know what else this could
be? Is there a way to get both normal system music and AlienBBC working
on an ols SliMP3 player or is it being ignored as being too old these
days?

Don't see why it should be. All used to be fine before recent updates.

OS is Ubuntu 9.04 if that helps.

Cheers

Hmmm, let me try asking that again in case I overcomplicated it last
time.

On Windows Vista SP1 - I can run Squeezeplay to play my music library,
but most of the internet radio stations I am trying to play - eg BBC
stations - won't play. They work fine when played from a real SB
attached to the same server. I guess I am missing either a piece of
configuration or a decoder of some sort?

All clues much appreciated.
