Did you ever try with a recent 7.4 build? As you can imagine I'm using
this plugin all the time and am running 7.4 too.

At a guess the URL you have used is wrong.

It looks likes you have used
http://homepage.eircom.net/~altondsl...softsqrepo.xml

and it should be

http://homepage.eircom.net/~altondsl/repos/softsqrepo.xml

Err... Not iTunes.
The use case is to play songs that are on an iPhone or iPod touch
through another device with analog audio in while controlling the whole
thing through yet another device that communicates to a server with
SqueezeCenter on it.

It IS obscure.

I think it's actually a very popular use case for such an interface
would make iTunes server accessible again.

Such an app could be distributed along with iTunes clients like your

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Alienbbc Mplayer...

2009-08-01 Thread boomdijk

I am a little out of my depth here. I have just installed Alienbbc and
Mplayer. Mplayer is working (it plays a stream) but when i start up a
stream via a player is softly ticking and repeating this output:
---
Streaming: Launching mplayer -really-quiet -vc null -vo null -bandwidth
1000 -cache 128 -af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2 -ao
pcm:file=/dev/fd/3

mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: No such file or directory

Anything for a hepling session? Thank you in advance...

There is a mistake in the included libraries in the zip file - use the
extension downloader to install 3.9.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing

2009-08-01 Thread Lyster

I just over-wrote the files in the Softsqueeze folder, as instructed,
with the new Beta version. Unfortunately, the application will no
longer start. Also, I noted that the Java that was installed on my
systemwas 32-bit - and I'm running 64-bit Vista. After getting this
error, I decided to uninstall the 32-bit Java and to install 64-bit
Java. The Squeezecenter asks me to install Java - I guess this software
is not recognized. (The Squeezecenter is on a Windows Home Server
machine.)

iPeng has an option for that (Settings->iPeng Settings->Prevent Sleep
Mode). It won't help on the "iPhone shuts off WiFi after 30min" issue
though.
There will be better solutions in 1.2, for once the 30min barrier will
no longer be one since Apple fixed a bug around this in 3.0

Right now the only thing that annoys me isnt really a problem with the

Let me explain my issue..

I love to sit and listen to albums at a time, normally a hour or more
at a time. However, obviously the iphone goes into lock mode...would
there be a way to have just iPeng stay up so you can quick switch your
music after the lock out period?

I have to agree, I have stopped synching SoftSqueeze with my Squeezebox.
I listen to one or the other - never both. My library consists almost
