[SlimDevices: Plugins] DenonSerial plugin thread
For a number of weeks now I've been using a plugin at home that I put together to control my Denon A/V receiver through SqueezeCenter. It's called DenonSerial because the focus is the lower-end "CI" Denon amps that offer RS232 serial ports for control (the more expensive Denon amps have Ethernet ports, and Aesculus/Chris has already written the "Denon AVP Control" plugin for those, http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60114). I've put up a web page about the plugin, and would love to hear from any Denon owners who'd be willing to try it out -- whether you have a relatively low-end Denon like I do, or a nicer, network-ready model. *Despite its name, DenonSerial CAN control network-enabled Denon amps via their ethernet ports.* The web page explains the features & requirements. http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html This plugin isn't quite ready for me to officially release it -- mostly because I've occasionally seen it get confused and stop controlling the amp. I'm working hard on that, as I rely on this plugin myself for daily use. Anyway, since it's not quite ready, you won't find it in my main Extension Downloader repository. See the web page for my test repository location. I've seen the "just stops working" problem with my USB-serial adapter, though normally it takes a few days for that to happen. I'm trying to find & fix that bug, as I find it really annoying, too. The TCP support should be better in the latest release, 0.1.22. I wasn't being very careful about the CR line endings in earlier releases, but now I am. And I've written a fake TCP server app to better test this. Finally, I'm going to start a new thread on this to keep Chris' cleaner. Oh, and I put up a web page that links to Chris' plugin; I expect anyone with an Ethernet-equipped Denon would probably be better served by Chris' plugin, especially while I try to fix that "just stops working" bug. The plugin should have parsed the CD Table of contents unless the user id which runs Squeezecenter has no access to /dev/sg18. At end of test - copy all log line from noted time to last record into a text file and zip it. Don't edit - Sometimes it is the message that are missing that give a clue to the problem. 4. Attach zipped text file to a post. To make sure maximum content -set plugin.cdplayer to DEBUG when logging. What version of CDplayer are you running ? Looks promising - I don;t know about USb bus attached drives - so this is unknown. I think the following may work but it is a paper exercise so there may be other changes needed. Also when testing turn on logging for plugin.cdplayer - set to DEBUG. In the file CDhandler.pm file - there is the following code. Code: sub cdromstatus { my $cdromdevice = shift; my $filehandle; my $drivestatus; my $diskstatus; # # For non Unix systems - return success. # if ($osdetected ne 'unix') { return (1,undef,undef); } Change the OS detection lines by adding a "#" to 2 of the lines. This will disable the checking using /dev/cdrom. Code: # if ($osdetected ne 'unix') { return (1,undef,undef); # } After changing code - you need to restart SC. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
Anything is possible but it may need changes to the plugin if the hardware is non standard. The Plugin expects a Linux support device /dev/cdrom - if there isn't one then the CD detection has to be removed which is not too serious as it was a recent addition. What is the processor type and speed of TS119 as this is important on whether a CD can be ripped and encoded in realtime. What type of bus is being used to support CDROM drive - IDE, SCSI, SATA, Firewire or USB, other ? You need to verify the following 1. Check that cdda2wav actually rip tracks from CDROM drive into a file ? 2. If it can rip - verify that it can rip a track in at least 50% of the track duration time. 3. What is the CPU load during step 2. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
Hi, I'm trying to play CD's through the CDplayer plugin from my qnap-ts119. The plugin is shown, but when I try to open the menu in Extra, I get the error that cdrom is not known. cdrecord -scanbus shows the device, but there is no /dev/cdrom (or /dev/dvd or whatever) associated with the device. The player is shown as device 18.0.0 and dmesg says it is connected to sg18. Is there a way to solve this? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer 0.9 and favorites
Okay, thanks. I'm using 7.3.3. Glad I kept the old favorite hanging around. Just have to hope the Been don't turn the old streams off. -- knigma knigma's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1054 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67151 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer 0.9 and favorites
You may find this works with 7.4 and not 7.3 servers. Though I would be interesed in feedback from people on how well this works. The issue is that iplayer uses dynamic urls so we can't just store the url in favorites. 7.4 has the added complexity that favorites and preset buttons are now different and I am not sure all cases are covered at present. -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67151 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SqueezeScrobbler 1.2.6 - LastFM working again!

I did the following: Advanced-> Extention Downloader. Added your url, and did see the Squeezescrobler 1.2.6 added to the list after pressing apply. But nothing was downloaded... What did I do wrong? Is it because I had already installed the plugin manually? -- Krist Krist's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2590 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66846 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer 0.9 - with UK and Non UK Support
Ha..that worked although with some issues. I don't seem to be able to get 'My Apps' to show up on the web interface and so can not control the feed from the Web. Also there seems to be many options to get past before getting the option for the stream, way more than with iPlayer. However I've got Radio back on my SliMP3 thanks. What is Faad? And how do I get it onto windows? For alarms it might be better to use the WMA stream URL. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67151 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer 0.9 and favorites
Hi, If I add a favorite for the Live Radio 4 stream from the Internet Radio menu the favorite works for a while but some later fails until I create a new favorite. Means I cannot use it for the alarm clock. BodgeIt Why do you not use the WMA streams to listen to live streams ? Since June, all the national BBC streams are available in WMA . They used to be in More Radio but now in 7.4 you need to install the URLs from App Gallery - Radio Networks / BBC) -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67098 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
