Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iTunesUpdate plugin not working on 7.4

2009-12-01 Thread netchord

Hello,

i'm running 7.3.4 on a mac w/ OS 10.5.8 installed. I've installed the
dev tools, but have failed 4 times to get Mac::AppleScript::Glue to
install. the first two failures were via the standard install, and the
next two I'd tried to force the install. no luck: Install Seems
Impossible

Even so, i moved the plugin to the appropriate folder, and it appears
in the SC Plugins directory, where i can apparently configure it. it
just doesn't actually work.

what would you need to debug (i'm a terminal neophyte, so please be
specific).

thanks.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Multi Library - multi directories?

2009-12-01 Thread snarlydwarf

SBS proper only deals with one path to your audio files.

MultiLibrary doesn't change that: it just lets you make 'subsets' of
your collection.

It sounds like you're using Linux...

So what I would do: create one directory that has links to the other
two.

Ie /home/user/music that has symlinks to your two directories.

Give THAT to SBS. And then use MultiLibrary to subdivide it.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Multi Library - multi directories?

2009-12-01 Thread squeezyjim

Hi

I have read through a number of posts and nobody has quite the same
issue, or they got over the problem much quicker than I did and didn't
post back how! :)

I have installed multilibrary, custom browse and custom scan, I have
SBS7.4 installed on my Suse11.2 box, with Squeezeplay on my laptop and
an SBRadio connected, which all browse and play the default mp3 library
perfectly fine.

I have all my music in /media/dir/mp3/ and this is my default location
for my library.

However, I also have /media/dir/audiobooks/ so I set up two
multi-libraries (and made it active) pointing to that directory (and the
other one set to point to /mp3), restarted squeezeboxserver, but it
still shows as '(no. of albums 0)' and obviously nothing can be browsed
via the menus I made...all the audio books I have are tagged as
'audiobook' as the genre, Title as the Album and Author as the Artist.

What's not clear to me is if I /have/ to move my /audiobooks/ directory
to a sub-directory under /mp3/ and then use filtering to make it work?
I'd rather not do that if possible...or am I missing something about
custom scan to make it see that directory? Or something.

I have also read the wiki pages of all three plugins a few times and
I'm afraid I'm still stumped...I'll have another look in the light of
day tomorrow - and I promise to post back if I figure it out! ;)

Thanks in advance for any pointers,

Cheers
Jim

I think it would make fun to write a small PRONTOtoNATIVE() function (at
least for all pronto-codes starting with ).
Maybe I find some time at the weekend ?

Would such a function still make sense to your changed code (or could
it easily be adapted) ?

That's great news! To be honest I wouldn't go to all the hastle of
creating Native hex for the commands as the next version will support
Denon and will be released relatively soon.

I had a really weird bug that I've just fixed but it wasn't my fault
(honest)! I have discovered that the controller can't do its sums
properly whereas the desktop Squeezeplay had no problem. I'm going to
raise it in the developers' forum and see what they have to say.

Yes, I've seen that. As long as you don't plan to use the image from
your avatar or you don't hold my liable for any incidents of epilepsy
around you this may be a feature :)
But I'll have to check the logic I'm using. The way iPeng uses this now
is that it tries to find an artwork and if it doesn't, it shows a
preloaded image that it doesn't have to load from the server.
The issue with the default image on the server is, that
a) the old one was ugly (I like the current one).
b) the server doesn't always send the same one but it sends the same
image under different IDs, making the client load it over and over again
which I don't want to do, costs some bandwidth and power. May become
better in 7.5 embedded, though, I'll have a look at it.

Also on 7.5 I'm getting an occasional "MIS_REMOTE_" error on Boom & SB3

Oh dear ... i was already afraid that if it was working I had to
provide all other codes... ;)

Here is how you can get from the pronto-codes to the raw hex
1) replace the first four numbers ( 006c 0020) with
'0x97B4'
2) replace every 000a with '0x8108'
3) replace every 001e with '0x0318'
4) replace every 0046 with '0x0738'
5) replace every 06ad with '0xA920'

There will be some unreplaced numbers left, thats because the recorded
pronto codes have same small timing variances. Just look for the numbers
that look similar ... with 000b you do the same replacement like you did
with 000a.
With 0047 the same as with 0046 ... 0685 the same as 06ad ...

In the end you should have a '0x' sequence with the same length
as the one I posted.
You should also notice that most codes look very similar. If you look
at my 'raw hex explained' section from previous posts, then only the
'command' and 'command complement' parts will change.

Good luck and have fun with your new DUET-remote !

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?

2009-12-01 Thread sgunn

If you find time, I also would love a fix for the 7.3 version. I use
the controller playback which they broke in 7.4.

2009-12-01 Thread papajohn

Robert
This is really messing with my head.
Last night I installed the server and your plugin on my wife's laptop
running Windows XP, and got similar results to what I was getting on the
Mac.
Can you say WTF??
Let me know if you need more info.
Thanks!

Working well for me. My SbS (7.4.2) noted the new version available as
an update. Applied the update, restarted, and all is working just fine
(running an XP (SP3) windows machine).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?

2009-12-01 Thread jschall

Thank you so much, Neil!

But if I may look a gift horse in the mouth...

I have a problem with the "Light" user interface (which I prefer only
because it is easy to use with Opera Mobile on my Pocket PC).

The login works, as does the "Quick Play" channel entry, but the
"Browse" buttons don't do anything.

The "Default" interface works fine.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Version discrepancy between genpuid and MusicIP

MusicIP Mixer version 1.9 beta 6 (Friday July 18, 2008) was the last(?)
version of MIP. You can probably still find a copy of it floating
around on the web.

Cheers

You may find it easier to create a filter for this, I've knocked up a
quick page on the website to show how Filters work.

However, if you get recipes working to any degree let me know, they
always sounded powerful even though I couldnt think of any particular
use for them ;)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer Bandwidth

2009-12-01 Thread majones

The fault is mine. Two of my squeezeboxes are synchronised, meaning that
they play and pause together. For some reason I had assumed that they
also switch-off together. Not so. If I stop one, the other carries on
streaming, explaining the drain on my broadband bandwidth. I have now
found the "power off / on with group" toggle in Squeezebox Server that
should solve my problem.

Yes, thanks; that's where I gleaned what little knowledge I have of
recipes. But what I know know just left me hungry for more, as I can see
that recipes are really powerful, but without more complete
documentation it's hard to get at that potential power.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?

2009-12-01 Thread corbey

Thanks for the update, Neil!

However, the only way I could get it to install was by using the
old-fashioned way. I had go to your website to download version 3.5 and
then copy the new files to my plugins directory. I tried uninstalling
and reinstalling using the Plugins page, but I kept getting the old
version.

When I clicked on your link above, my browser just displayed the XML
file, but I didn't know how to run it in Windows Vista.

Thanks again.

Seems that the "Internet Radio" is exclusive to Radio Time??

Also, the plugin is not now resolving the issue with international
access to Last.fm.

It was a good run James. Thanks for a brilliant improvement to this
great service. One day the Music Industry will get their act together
and we will have this service in NZ again.
