[SlimDevices: Plugins] Twitter App for Squeezebox

2009-12-19 Thread Justme

Has anyone created a Twitter app for the Squeezebox? I was wondering
that it maybe cool to use the Squeezebox or booms scrolling display to
show twitter feeds one maybe subscribed to. I've done a search but
couldn't find anything.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Can't restore trackstat ratings

2009-12-19 Thread Capricorn

MeSue, thank you for your help! Indeed, the server.log file showed a
wrong entry in the backup file that caused the restore process to fail.
There were strange symbols added to the end of some musicbrainzId's,
e.g.

musicbrainzIded462550-eab7-4e42-88ec-16909faa7f84+/musicbrainzId

I had to find and correct these corrupt entries all manually - that
took me hours! At least the restore process was successful and the new
backup file now shows, that the database has obviously been corrected.
But one question still remains: How could it happen that the
musicbrainzId's became corrupt? Is it a bug in the trackstat plugin or a
bug in squeezecenter?

And a last question to you, MeSue: Which program do you prefer to add
ratings to flac-tags, that can be read by squeezecenter?

Martin

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SqueezeControl for Android announcement and support thread

2009-12-19 Thread Hobbes

Great app!

I immediately stumbled over the possibility to download the songs and
it worked fine, only that it defaults to a directory Music and also
the .mp3 extension seems to be missing, it shows up as .null.

Directory could perhaps be set in the settings? and the extension thing
I assume is a bug or am I the only one experiencing that?

Cheers!

Glad you got it sorted out.

I don't use FLAC files. Most of my library is MP3. I use J. River Media

Mine doesn't work on the 3.91b either.
But if you have a paid account, why not use the Pandora One player?
You get 192 streams, unlike the squeezeplayer, or browser.
If I am at the computer, the player is it.
Around the house I use my squeeze hardware.

I don't know whether the streams which 0.3 used will still work. I
suggest you upgrade to server 7.4.1 and the latest version of BBCiPlayer
unless you have a reason for not upgrading. However the 0.3 version is
not really supported any more.

I'm a total Limux novice, built the server using the Ulverston

Afraid I don't know the details of Clark connect, but would expect that
you could just update squeezecenter and then install the latest plugin
(which can now be done automatically from the plugin page). You may
want to post on the unix forum for support in upgrading.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Product Announcement - Squeeze Mobile

2009-12-19 Thread norderney

Just downloaded Squeeze Mobile onto my 3GS iPhone. The App loads ok and
it finds my music. I can select music by Artist, Album, Search, New
Music etc. It displays the selected track details on the screen.

The only thing it does not do is play the music. It just says
buffering.

Any ideas? It is obviously reading my music database successfully. It
is currently connnected via my Wi-Fi connection. I also use iPeng on my
iPhone and iPeng is working perfectly via my Wi-Fi connection.

SqueezeCentre version: 7.3 - 24270

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2009-12-19 Thread Mitch G

Is there anyway you could add a feature to disable the AM/PM part of
the time display? I like to show temp/feels like temp/wind and this
doesn't fit on my display along with the time.
In the past, I would just hack the perl code to not display the AM/PM
stuff so it would fit.
But, I don't see any hackable file in the 7.4 version.

Thanks,

Mitch

Not that I know of. First things first, check install.xml and make sure
maxVersion is at least 7.4* -- then see what happens. Some plugins
needed no change to work in 7.4 (having no trouble other than causing
deprecated warnings when SBS 7.4 starts), but others do need changes,
e.g. I have a few that intercept the 'player volume' CLI command, and
that command changed a bit in 7.4.

What plugin is this? Have you written its author?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2009-12-19 Thread jdc

Hi Mitch,

If I understand correctly, I think you can do that by going into
settings, and then to the player tab, then choose the Date and Time menu
and choose a format like:

h:mm (12h)

that doesn't have the pm in it. And from there, I think superdatetime
honors that format, or at least it does for me on my boomboxes.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Converting plugin to be 7.4 friendly?

2009-12-19 Thread Mitch G

Thanks for the response.
I'm the author (AstroInfo) and so I only have myself to blame. :)

Your advice helped. I was able to install the plugin and even use it
after making the install.xml change.
But, then Squeezecenter/box/whatever deleted it when I restarted the
server.
So, I set up a repo.xml type of deal to try and install it the official
way and I see it's throwing some errors about a http method I use.
Something for me to look at later.

Thanks again for the help,
