Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Freenas/Slimnas installation problem

2009-12-28 Thread MrSums

Squeezecenter up and running, but I can't fine Extensions downloader
on the Advanced menu. It is ticked in the Plugins, but when I click
settings, it can't find anything.

The link to settings is:
http://192.168.1.7:9000/plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/Extensions/settings/basic.html;

my directory doesn't quite look like that:

/slimnas/squeezebox/Slim/Plugin/Extensions (no s and capital P on
plugins)

am I still missing something?

I have installed the AlienBBC plugin by hand, but it is the wrong
version for the Squeezecenter 7.4.1 I am running

Thanks again

Robert

Settings seems to be a dead link (at least on my 7.4.1 SBS).
If the Extension Downloader is active you should see a -Additional
Repositories- field at the bottom of the plugins page.
Might need to restart SBS if not already done so.

Extensions Downloader is ticked as active and the additional

repo, but I don't have a selection for Extensions on the Advanced tab.
My options are:

Command Line Interface
Customize Controller
Favorites
File Types
Formatting
Info Browser
Last.fm Audioscrobbler
Logging
Network
Performance
Rescan Music Library
RSS News Ticker
Security
Software Updates

and that's it. No Extension Downloader

 Hi indifference_engine
What does the Use Player Profiles selection do in the SqueezeIR
 settings?

If you select the Use Player Profiles check-box and if you have a
profile with the same name as one of your players then SqueezeIR will
use it whenever you connect the controller to that player. When you
change to a different player, SqueezeIR will use the new player's
profile if there is one, or use the default profile otherwise. If you
don't have Use Player Profiles enabled then SqueezeIR will always use
the default profile. It could be useful if you have two receivers in
different rooms but only one controller - When you change players as you
move between rooms then SqueezeIR will auto-configure itself to control
that room's equipment.
Paden;499440 Wrote:

Like pressing Home but without having to actually press it? How lazy is

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?

Hi Northern Bob,

Some things to try/ questions:

1. Can you log in through the xmonline ui?

http://www.xmradio.com/player/home/xmhome.action

2. Is your account in the US?

3. Do you have the premium online account? If not, you will need to
select low bandwidth option in the xm plugin settings (where you have
entered your password).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Freenas/Slimnas installation problem

2009-12-28 Thread MrSums

OK, thanks. Have downloaded and installed the correct version by hand,
using the details shown in the repository.

AlienBBC now shows on the list of installed plugins as being correctly
installed (v2.6b2-7.3) and also appears on the menu. However, I can't
get any streams working.

The WMV link simply shows connecting ... but never connects. The
RealPlayer stream says buffering.. then simply stops.

Have checked the config file is correctly altered.

Further help appreciated

Thanks

[SlimDevices: Plugins] PowerSwitch II

2009-12-28 Thread iSix

Hello,
Does anyone know if the PowerSwitch II plugin works with the latest
slimserver (or whatever they're calling it this week)?

If not, is there an alternative that will work with circuits built for
PowerSwitch II plugin?
I'm reluctant to upgrade to the latest version unless I know I can get
this functionality as 5 of my squeezeboxes rely on it, and don't fancy
upgrading, finding it doesn't work then rolling back.

Thanks.

Nope, not really. That event gets triggered by when the Squeezebox
Server service itself stops...usually when the system shuts down or if
you manually kill the service.

What's needed here is a monitoring facility that is clued into the fact
that the system is about to go into sleep or hibernation. This is
something that I think would be impossible in perl, so it's not going to
happen in the plugin. Instead, I'll have to write yet another C based
windows utility that listens for power management events and fires off
CLI requests to Squeezebox Server.

This is entirely doable. I just need the time and caffeine to get it
done.

2009-12-28 Thread squeeze2k

Hi Gordon,

Tried to download all files as specified and copy them into my
SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 firmware directory.

My (Duet) player's firmware still wants to get upgraded to 7.4.1 r7915

Any ideas?

Squeezebox service has been restarted.
Squeezebox Server is a WinXP box recently downgraded from 7.4.2 to
7.3.3 after reading about your firmware shuffle trick.
Current firmware on player is 7.3.3 r6038

One of the reasons for downgrading was also because I thought I would
have more success waking up my machine from suspend with 7.3.3 - like
most people here tend to have...

I'm using your latest beta, v20091215.121332
I've no problem suspending the server and cmd /C start /B
SCPowerTool.exe --standby --wakeup=-60 runs just fine

Any help appreciated.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] 3rd party wave Input plugin

2009-12-28 Thread Stever3

WaveinputPlugin Information Please
I have a squeezebox duet (non touch remote) that I use with two
receivers.
I want to make the third party plugin called wave input operate.
I have Squeezebox Server Version: 7.4.1 - r28947 running on the
computer.
The computer is operating with Windows 7 Home premium.
I have no clue how to make this work.
Heres what I have done thus far.
I have put a checkmark beside the plugin and restarted everything.
I cannot find any new tabs or places to operate this plugin on the
computer or hand control.
The more info beside the plugin says that this update (v1.05) is
compatible with version 7.4.1
The plugin should allow me to A Plugin to enable Windows PC audio to
be captured and played through SqueezeCenter
The Waveinput plugin does not show in
C:\programdata\squeezebox\cache\dowloadedplugins
C:\Program Files (x86)\ squeezebox\server\plugins
Waveinput folder DOES show in
C:\ProgramData\squeezebox\cache\installedplugins\plugins\waveinput
To use this plugin the readme text says
Use:
Navigate to the Wave Input plugin page and press PLAY to select the
audio input.
You can stop, pause, play and save the Audio Input source as a
favorite or playlist
just like any other web link or song.

HUH??? Does anyone know what to do at this point or has anyone used
this before?

Have you read the Wiki entry - make sure you note there are different
procedures for different veriosn of SC/SBS ?

http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/WaveInput_plugin#WaveInput_Plugin

Important steps.
1. Make sure you PC audio can be recorded using WIndows Recorder
accessory. Probably check out
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/WaveInput_plugin#Configure_Windows_Vista
- I don't know what W7 changes to Vista.

2. If Audio can be captured then using Waveinput involved creating a
favorite - the method you described is pre 7.3.*
See -

One question I forgot to ask. What difference does the low/high
bandwidth option make for people in Canada? I've seen that for US

is there any difference with switching between low/high bandwidth in the

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: (not so) Sirius Plugin

2009-12-28 Thread lesliew

I installed the notsosirius plugin using the manual method. I tried to
install it via the plugin page a few times at first but kept losing the
fonts on my players so after reinstalling twice with the same problem I
gave the manual method a try.

Using the manual method the Sirius install went OK the display looked
fine but I had an error message on the boom 'Problem: unable to play
file type for ...' which I believe a few other people have been getting.
I was also getting lots of unreadable/strange characters on the server.
Xserve 7.4.1 - r28947

I then went home and did the manual install this time on my QNAP TS639
NAS. Perl 7.4.1 - r28947. The first player I tried was my SB3 I was
delighted to find that it worked perfectly flicked through several
stations without problems. I then fired up softsqueeze and got the
'Problem: unable to play file type for ...', SB3 was still working.

Next to try was my Transporter, unfortunately same problem 'Problem:
unable to play file type for ...' this time the transporter display also
shows garbage. I spent quite a while fooling around with this convinced
that it would work but to no avail. All the while the SB3 continued to
stream the Sirius stream without problem even following repeated reboots
of player and restarting the server.

Radio Next - Works, like the SB3 it just works.

Receiver - Works no problems

To summarise

SB3, Radio, Receiver running on QNAP NAS works
Transporter running on the same NAS/Network does not work
Softsqueeze does not work

Boom, This is at work running off an Xserve, does not work

I will try to bring the boom home tomorrow and try this at home and
then report back.
