I know, this is a minor detail, but it would be nice to see an icon in

if this plug-in works by scrapping the weather.com web page, this will
probably be a continuing problem as the weather.com gui design changes.

Re: Announce: Spicefly SugarCube Version 2.03 (Automatic MusicIP DJ) for 7.x

2010-01-30 Thread humboldt

There is another thing. With SugarCube turned on i pick a song and
listen to some music. After a while i decide to create a MusicIP-mix.
When i hit 'Play this mix' the Music-IP mix is playing but when i want
to scroll through the playlist (on the controller) the songs get
mixed-up. Sometimes the whole playlist is empty (with the music still
playing) or things freeze. A reset of the controller doesn't help. I'm
almost sure it has something to do with SugarCube because when i turn
SugarCube off and create a MusicIP-mix everything is fine.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SqueezeControl for Android announcement and support thread

2010-01-30 Thread HelmutRathgen

thank you for your help. Please apologize late reply. Unfortunately my
settings weren't right such that I didn't receive an email from the
forum thread.

Here I have a follow up question.

What is the 'squeeze server' in your reply?

I have two devices here, the remote control with IP 192.168.1.105 and
the 'squeezebox' with IP 192.168.1.106. Plus an external host
mysqueezebox.com with IP 89.202.121.131 (displayed in the diagnostics
tab on my remote control).

Do you suggest I should put the external host?

If I put that one and do 'test CLI port', the app crashes, for 'test
http port', I get 'something is responding http:/89.202.121.131' but it
doesn't seem to be a squeeze center installation.

For the two internal IP's it doesn't work.

Any thoughts?

Cheers, Helmut

Pippin referred to a local squeezebox server (SBS) running on you PC.

AFAIK, SqueezeControl does not support MySqueezeBox.com, yet, i.e. it
will only work with a local SBS.

You may want to take a look at SqueezeCommander. It's an Android App
like SqueezeControl but also allows accessing your players via
MySqueezeBox.com.
It's not free though...

I was afraid this would be the case. Too bad.

Thanx for the hint to squeezecommander.

It would definitely be very interesting if this feature was implemented

Are there plans to do so?

Is there a project site where I could file a feature request?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] underwhelmed by Classical.com

2010-01-30 Thread Krist

I though Classical.com would be the answer to my thirst for Classical
music. Unfortunately it is not.

Via the Classical.com app on the Squeezebox controller I can select
pre made playlists. Via the website I can create my own playlists,
however tracks are added to this list in a random order, never in the
order they appear in in the album.
When I add a second playlist it never appears on my squeezebox...
Furthermore most of the tracks are of quite old recordings, and the
quality is sometimes bad. The metadata quality in the downloaded albums
is poor.

I won't be continuing my subscription after the free trial is over.

If you are using a local SqueezeBoxServer, that may be a caching
problem.

Try restarting the server (or just wait some time) in this case.

BBC iisue.

The list the BBC provides for use with BBCiPlayer plugin only gets
updated a few times a day and sometimes the update doesn't happen for
some program for a longer time (e.g 12hrs).

Also the same list strictly enforces the 7 day rule when programs are
available whereas the website seems to be more generous and shows
programs for 8 days.

I tried the manual route. I made an sbin folder in /usr/local/ and then
manually added the scripts from the plugin folder and then made them
executable. next, i did the other steps involved in the manual process
with the exception of these scripts:

chown root:wheel /usr/local/sbin/spc-sleep.sh
chown root:wheel /usr/local/sbin/spc-hibernate.sh
chown root:wheel /usr/local/sbin/spc-wakeup.sh

i get a permission denied for those commands.

for whatever reason i can now suspend my server as well as shut it
down. i haven't tried hibernating or restarting yet.

my problems i think are originating from a lack of root access.

Would it be possible to add an option to have iPeng cache downloaded
CustomBrowse data? This cache could be cleared the same way as the
normal iPeng cache, i.e. upon request or when the SBS library has
changed.

Completely loading long artist or album lists in CustomBrowse takes a
long time, as does accessing some menus invoking complex sql queries.

I realise that caching CustomBrowse data is not ideal for everyone,
i.e. those using dynamic menus (recently played tracks etc.), and this
is why I ask only about an option.

I can play listen live streams fine, but over the last few weeks I am
consistently getting timed out waiting for data when I try to connect
to listen again streams on SB (connect fine from my desktop etc)

I'm running 7.4.1 on QNAP TS109 over SSOTS 4.1 - 7.4.0, with 4 wired
SB3's. Because of the limitations of the 109 I have deselected Flash
AAC, and selected Prefer WMA in the iPlayer settings. I have selected
maximum timeout period (60s) in Network settings. The players are trying
to connect to a WMA stream.

Server log seems to suggest two different error messages : with 60s
timeout I got -
[10-01-30 17:39:59.7855] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Remote::__ANON__ (225)
Error: Can't connect to remote server to retrieve playlist for,
http://wm-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms2/radio4fmcoyopa/radio_4_fm_-_sunday_1115.wma:

With a shorter timeout I got -

[10-01-30 16:47:09.0973] Slim::Buttons::XMLBrowser::gotError (200)
Error: While retrieving
[http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/mtis/stream/bbc_radio_fourfm]:

Error: While retrieving
[http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/mtis/stream/b00q0cz2]: [Timed out
waiting for data]

(I've removed some extraneous error messages relating to a different
app)

I've yet to come across a SB problem that I can't solve. This one has
me stumped, though I have a gnawing suspicion that the answer is going
to be pretty obvious when I figure it out. Any suggestions gratefully
received.

Regards

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Inguz and 7.4

2010-01-30 Thread readyscott

Hi all, glad to see this thread's still moving. I'm a bit confused and
hope someone can help.

I've installed Inguz correctly as far as I can make out, including
making all the suggested changes to Plugin.pm (talk about plug and
play!). I've disabled all the FLAC File Types everything apart from
flac/InguzDSP, and I can play FLAC files ok. However, I can't discern
any difference when changing any filter settings. InguzDSP.exe is
running whenever I play a track, but the processor load is pretty low,
between 2% and 10%. It jumps to max of 40% when I make a change, like
load a new filter through the Plugin Settings web interface (tip: don't
wait for the page to load, click EQ where it says HomeEQ at the top
left as soon as the page starts to load, and the rest of the page loads
ok, without the Silverlight error). Then the CPU load drops down to
between 2% and 10% again. This is on a 1.6Ghz Core2Duo, so no
super-duper processor or anything.

I've generated a few filters with REW - correctly I think. I exported
as Filter Impulse WAVs, so that's the first thing to check, is that the
right thing to export?

Also, I generated the filters as Mono, with separate Left and Right
speaker recordings. Then I used Audacity to combine them, but I don't
know if I did it right - I opened both tracks, then hit Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C
on one track, then Ctrl-V in the other track. This seemed to paste the
second track into the first one, then I clicked Make Stereo Track and
saved it as a WAV in the highest resolution format I could find.
Phew...

Anyhow, I've put the Filter files into the Impulses folder, and they're
listed ok. But there doesn't seem any difference between them. Even
turning Room correction off doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm not
convinced that boosting or cutting on the graphic EQ is doing anything
either, although everything shows on screen.

What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have a radical filter to try?

Cheers,
Scott

Inguz has a global attenuation setting in its configuration file. Try
setting this 20dB higher than the default to confirm Inguz is inline. It
would be surprising if it was not, since you can see InguzDSP taking cpu
time.

I think REW generates filters that only correct bass and sub-bass,
whereas most Inguz users use Denis Sbragion's 'drc' which generates full
range filters. I'm assuming you have speakers and source material to
hear the sub-bass content

I dont, but thats a good idea. I shall make one..

if this plug-in works by scrapping the weather.com web page, this will

Weather.com historically has only changed their web page every couple
years, so it hasn't been that big of an issue.

If it becomes an issue I can look into other feed options.

be located, see remarks above) Restart Server and it should work.:)

This worked perfectly for me. Thanks so much for your hard work!

It *should* fix that endless '*' issue. Along those lines, when it
can't parse a page instead it should ignore that data refresh and
hopefully one of the subsequent freshes will work. I could code it to
try over and over again, but I'd prefer not to wreak havoc on
weather.com's servers that are already having a hard time.

The long weather issue should also be corrected so you shouldn't get
 dupes.

Loaded this one Friday at ~ 10:30 PM CST. So far so good. However,
the last time weather.com choked for my location was ~ 8 AM on the 26th.

As caching is done now, this would be very, very hard to do, first of
all because with CB you don't even know upfront what kind of menus will
be there.

I plan to rework caching for 1.4 (and probably iPad) and made some
suggestions to Erland on how to complement CB with that. Maybe there's a
chance for this now that he's got back his motivation about the SB
platform :)
