How is iOS4 multitasking and New music supposed to work? With my new
iPhone4 the New music menu never refreshes automatically like it did on
the old iPod Touch. Do I have to manually flush the cache in iPeng each
time I add or change music?

Ok, Triode just reminded me of an issue that could cause missing "Add
Next" entries for some context menus in Apps that you put into the home
menu (as opposed to opening them through "My Apps"). Oh, and in
Spotify.

Could this be the issue?
If yes, it will hopefully be fixed in the next release. Disclaimer: If
the fix doesn't cause side effects...

You sent him a debug version and then he was able to solve his problem.

Can you please help?

Do you have the cli port on the server enabled and this open on the
firewall - the error message above suggests spotifyd can't create a cli
connection to the squeezebox server.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announcement: Whitebear Media Server (UPnP/DLNA) v2.0 released !!

2010-08-20 Thread AndrewFG

raldo;570577 Wrote:
> does Whitebear implement dlna dmr, aka "play to"?

Yes, it should work if you have a Control Point that supports "Play
To".

Whitebear is a DLNA DMS (Digital Media Server); it provides the
information for the ContentDirectory browsing function, and it is a
server for delivering the (transcoded) music files and thumbnail images
to whoever cares to have them.

Your Control Point is a GUI that allows you to browse to the file you
want to play. It calls on the Whitebear ContentDirectory to provide the
necessary directory information. And if the Control Point supports "Play
To" it instructs the respective player (DMR Digital Media Renderer) to
play the respective file. Basically the CP says to the DMR "here is a
URL for some music, please download that file (from Whitebear) and play
it"...

Hi Pippin. What happened to the 'Add Next' choice in iPeng? It is the

It was a feature that made building Playlists using iPeng my favorite

Also please bring back the old Player Icons. The new ones look like I

It is written in Pascal, built using the Delphi development environment
http://www.embarcadero.com/products/delphi -- currently they only target
Windows platforms. They do have plans to introduce cross compiling to
Unix and Apple platforms in the future; but unfortunately they just
announced a new (delayed) roadmap where the cross platform stuff is
delayed until two years from now...

> Have you plans to add image and video support from the filesystem?

Not really. Whitebear uses Squeezebox Server to manage and query the
music database, with all the music file tags and thumbnails etc. Adding
image and video support, would mean that I would need to bolt on another
application to do for the image and video and video files what SBC does
for music files...

Sorry, but no.

Whitebear delegates all its music library browsing requests and album
artwork requests to the Squeezebox Server application; so the "look and
feel" of your music library browsing experience will be very close to
what you see when use use one of the Squeezebox UIs.

But for reasons of speed and responsivity, Whitebear serves the music
stream directly(*) to the UPnP player (aka renderer). So therefore it
is not possible to sync with other players.

(*) although if the music is being transcoded, then Whitebear uses the
Squeezebox Server transcoder helper applications to do it...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2010-08-20 Thread ancoor

Thanks for the plugin, Triode! Wonderful work you done and you deserve
as much credits for all your help you do here to support it, as well
for the plugin itself. Both Logitech and Spotify should very greatful
as well. You really should (if you haven't already) open an paypal
account for donations.

I installed the plugin as described on...

Code:

Version: 7.5.1 - r30836 @ Tue Jun 1 05:57:28 PDT 2010
  Serverns IP-adress: 192.168.1.1
  HTTP-serverns portnummer: 9000
  Operativsystem: Debian - SV - utf8
  Plattformsarkitektur: x86_64-linux
  Perl-version: 5.10.1 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi
  MySQL-version: 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.6
  Totalt antal anslutna spelare: 1

Everything seems to work, but there is not a sound from my SB Radio.
Menyes and everything else work.

Code:

[11:00:45.904737] main:422 new connection
  [11:00:45.913413] main:455 req: stream.flc res:

[11:00:46.152500] write_cover:57 cover fetch: No error

Iv'e already allowed connections from 127.0.0.1 and tried to remove the
security within SB Server as well. Tried ports 9001, 9002 and 9010, and
set the bitrate to 160. Server is logged in and errors are 0.

Any idéas how to fix this? The server is a multihome server with
multiple interfaces and serve as router along with alot of other
functions. I can't turn off the firewall but firewall allow all
connections from loopback (127.0.0.1) and the internal interface. Maybe
it would help if I could specify IP to 192.168.1.1 instead of 127.0.0.1?
I don't think port 9090 is in use already...

Ok. This is an issue that is somewhat fixed and somewhat not.

What I see is that if I quit the App from the task bar after enabling
WOL it _sometimes_ doesn't remember the setting on the first try,
strangely it seems to always work on a second try. But this is my
current beta, behavior of the 1.2.5.1 may be worse.

We'll get this fixed, I'll try some brute-force saving of settings :)

When I try to wake up the server and nothing happens the MAC address is
gone as far as I remember. I will confirm when I get home tonight.
