Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Hi, I've just downloaded and installed SDT for my Transporter, and I'm having some issues modifying the format of the Time/Weather for the Forecast days (not the 1st set of days that appear). What is basically happening is the regular formatted values are working fine, it's just when I turn on Long Forecast, I'm not able to change the format of what is displayed (and some of the numbers run right next to one another (the short date, and the high temp for that date appear right next to each other - i.e. Sept 14 & 39 deg). I've tried modifying the superdatetime.prefs file per some earlier posts in this thread (in the weatherformat1b, weatherformat1t, weatherformat2b, and weatherformat2t lines), but every time I edit that file, the SDT plugin appears to fail (the default Date and Time screensaver appears instead of the SDT one, and I need to uninstall the SDT plugin, and delete all of the prefs in order to recover the SDT plugin). Any help with this issue would be appreciated. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
If you are buying a 4G iPod touch it doesn't matter. Apps can only use up to 2GB and iPeng is even far, far away from using that. If you plan to buy an older 3G iTouch I would take a 32 or 64 GB model since those are actually a different generation (the 8GB was still Gen 2) and are faster. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Pippin can confirm, but I think the answer will be not much if any benefit. I have 60k plus library and the cache of artwork, etc. is almost instant. This is actually more a function of the computer you are running SbS on than on the iTOUCH. -- garym garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi, This surely must have been asked before but I can't find it ... But is there any benefit to getting a larger ipod touch? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announcement: Whitebear Media Server (UPnP/DLNA) v2.0 released !!
i don't have much exp with DLNA, but i always thought that way it was supposed to work, most of the time, was without transcoding. transcoding would only be necessary if the player device didn't natively support the format. where is the transcoding taking place? like whats the full signal handling path? personally, i wouldn't want anything but the player hardware, (whatever that may be) to decode the mp3 or whatever one sends it. thats how i thought it always worked. -- MrSinatra www.lion-radio.org using: sb2 & sbc (my home) / sbrec & ipeng (parent's home) - sbs 7.5.2b - win xp pro sp3 ie8 - p4(ht) 3.2ghz, 2gig ram - 1tb wd usb2 raid1 - d-link dir-655 - 43k+ mp3 MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80632 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

In the meantime, I think I found a way to "trick" the players into accepting the original format MP3s instead of forcing a transcoding to L16. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SugarCube/Spicefly are you out there???
- I don't understand your comment. Spicefly wrote SugarCube, which is a 3rd party plug-in for Squeezebox server (not for MusicIP). Why is it inappropriate to call out to the developer in the forum "3rd Party Plugins"? My dilemma is: - Using the SugarCube plugin for Squeezebox server requires installation of Headless MusicIP - MusicIP is no longer being developed or supported, and it appears all forums have been removed - If you go to the Wiki for SlimDevices/Squeezebox, they refer you to the Spicefly website for instructions to install MIP headless under Windows (and that is the only comment at the Wiki) - The contact link at the Spicefly website is broken (Or I would have used that) Would welcome assistance from anyone - to either help me solve my problem or to suggest how I can "break through" to make contact at the Spicefly website. -- SlimTrigger SlimTrigger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19278 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81691 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
