Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2010-12-07 Thread Eric Seaberg

I've been accessing my SlimServer remotely since I got the system 11/06
and it works GREAT! Now that I've got iPeng on my iPhone, I'm able to
control players at home and the SB3 sitting in my office.

I have noticed, however, that iPeng does take some time to distinguish
that I'm not on my home network anymore. Eventually, it will find my
SlimServer on its own. Am I missing something in the setup? Should it
be easier than this to switch between servers?

Thanks... GREAT APP!!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2010-12-07 Thread souwalker

Hi

I am currently still ripping my CDs into my NAS. I rip possibly 10 at a
time then do a scan on the server to pick up new files.

Do I have to do anything in iPeng to pick up new albums on the server?

Rgds

I've tried a whole number of different ports.
Strange thing is Spotifyd doesn't appear in the processes when I load
Squeezeserver.

If I run:
$squeezeboxserver spotifyd

it returns:
Can't open /var/log/squeezeboxserver/server.log (Permission denied) at
/usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/Log/Log4perl/Appender/File.pm line
103.

That's on my list of Christmas coding along with caching the config
files in case the server is of when the Controller is restarted. Wait
and see what 2011 brings...

Although I do need to do something here I think we are talking about
different things concerning my original post. What I was getting at
was the possibility of using SqueezeIR with the Touch's
(http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/speakers-audio/wireless-music-systems/devices/5745)
embedded server, not using it stand-alone on the Controller.

Hm, don't know why that is. I haven't changed the repo sinse
SqueezeIR went live but the repo url you posted is correct. If this
becomes a common issue I'll have to look into it. What version of SBS

Don't know - sounds like the firewall on the mac is still running and
blocking incoming connections?

I have used sb and this great plugin for some time. Last week i got, due
to isp change, a new router. It took me a few hours to get my Netgear AP
to work correctly with this new router.

The SB works fine except for the spotify-plugin.
I can browse spotify playlists, albums, tracks and even the cover art
pops up in the display.

But when selecting a track i get this: "Streaming Failed ( Restarting

I run the Spotify plugin (and squeezebox server of course) on an iMac.
The software firewall (Little Snitch) is currently turned off. Both the
iMac and the squeezebox touch are connected to the same wireless router.
Hence there should be no firewall in between, should there? And
streaming music from the library (on the iMac) works as it should. The
problem is only with the Spotify plugin. Any suggestions on how to
debug this problem?

Second case suggests something else is already using the port - is 9003
used by something else or is there another copy of spotifyd running
already?

Can you browse your playlists from the normal spotify client? This
sounds like a problem at the spotify end which would also show up on
the spotify client.

That sounds like a firewall issue - ensure your players are able to
connect to spotifyd through any firewall software you have.

2010-12-07 Thread markturnip

Hello,
I'm running SqueezeBox server on CentOS 5.5.

I've installed the Spotify plug in, but get the error:

After a reboot.

I've tried running ./spotify from within
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/i386-linux.
Which does allow me to choose songs, but once I select a track I get:

[13:47:55.395573] main:325

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2010-12-07 Thread hgpuke

Hi!
Recently I have been getting problems with the Spotify plugin. When
trying to use it from the Squeezebox touch, I get a "Cannot stream"
message and the player goes on to the next file in the playlist and I
get another "cannot stream" message and so on until I shut it down.

Interestingly enough, I DON'T get the same problem when I use the
Softsqueeze player on the same computer that runs the squeezebox
server. Any idea what causes my problems?

Thanks,
Hans-Göran Puke, Sweden

[SlimDevices: Plugins] squeezecast questions

I have iPeng on my iPod Touch and I am considering getting squeezecast.
I have a couple of questions before I purchase:
- Does it support FLAC natively?
- Does it support gapless playback of FLAC and LAME mp3?

Thanks,

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Grandfather's clock style - radio

Here comes another custom clock style for the radio. For all of us, that
like some analogue in the digital world.

Please find all required files in the attached ZIP. Maybe Erland will
put this style to the online available ones. This would be very much
appreciated :-)
