Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat menus on Radio/Touch

2010-12-28 Thread Phil Meyer
My custom SQL Playlist to achieve this was:

-- PlaylistName:Not Rated Songs for album
-- PlaylistGroups:Songs, Not Rated
-- PlaylistParameter1:album:Select album:
SELECT tracks.url
FROM tracks
WHERE
  audio=1
  AND tracks.album='PlaylistParameter1'
AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM track_statistics WHERE
tracks.url=track_statistics.url AND track_statistics.rating IS NOT NULL)
AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM dynamicplaylist_history WHERE
tracks.id=dynamicplaylist_history.id)

Erland - is there a way to get/use the current player id in a SQL Playlist?
This SQL is filtering out any songs in the dynamic playlist history for any
player, where actually it would be nice to only ignore songs that are in the
history for the current player. I looked in the wiki and couldn't see any
keyword, but the table does record dynamic playlist history per-player.

Thanks for the reply. I just uninstalled and reinstalled again and still
no joy.

I tried changing the port number but then the login info on the
plug-in's settings page disappeared. I've got it back to 9001 now and
it says I'm logged in. I can get as far as seeing the playlists but
then I get the error message again.

I switched off the Firewall in my router and switched on uPnP. I wonder
if it's a port-forwarding issue? But then if it were wouldn't uPnP solve
that?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] New version of OtherPlayers for 7.3

2010-12-28 Thread Robert57

Kuben, I have ironed all the problems now and Other Players is working
fine. I just forgot to "Apply" the changes I made in SBS Settings when
deleting the "GrabPlaylist" plug-in, so I am all good.

One other question on Other Players: when I have sent or grabbed a
playlist between two players, they seem to be effectively synced. Even
changing between MySqueezbox.com and SBS on one player causes a like
behavior in the other player, even turning the other one on if needed.
If I select "Sync" the other player, how do I undo this action? I do
not see how to UnSync the two players to make them completely
independent, if only intermittently. There seems to be no option to
Unsync the two in the OtherPlayers menu, after Syncing them. Does
Grabbing a playlist from another player cause a syncing ? It sure seems
to with my two players.

Thanks again.

Robert

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] New version of OtherPlayers for 7.3

2010-12-28 Thread Kuben72

That's good.

No. Grabbing or sending a playlist from or to another player does not
automatically sync them.
The syncing and unsyncing of two players happens by choosing the
syncing option in the Other Player-menu for the player. Its a menu that
toggles.

If you grab a playlist can you see in SBS that the two players are
synced?

2010-12-28 Thread Robert57

Kuben, thanks for clearing this up. I see in the settings that the two
players had somehow been set to "sync"--not how sure how that setting
changed. I see now how the toggle works in OtherPlayers for syncing,
and no, merely grabbing a playlist does not trigger a syncing now. This
must have been a settings miscue.

It should not need any configuration on the router firewall as the
problem is between your players and the helper app. Are you using the
deb install? If so could you try stopping the server completely and
killing all perl/slimserver.pl processes and then restarting it. I
think you may be suffering from the multiple processes problem caused
by plugin installer with the deb package.

For some reason it seems like I've just selected to show statistics for
all tracks of the selected artist, album, genre, year or playlist and
not made it possible to select which type of statistics you like to
see.

So you can definitely show the statistics by hitting "add" button but
you can't show different kind of statistics as you can do on the
Classic/Boom/Transporter through their mixer functionality.

The statistics view opened with the "add" button on
Radio/Transporter/Duet is also a bit messed up because it tries to show
three lines of information per item. This looks good on iPeng but it
looks pretty bad in the Squeezeplay interface. I think pippin has added
some parameter which might be possible to use to detect if the menu is
requested from iPeng or another Squeezeplay device, so I can probably
use that to show different menu layout.

However, at the moment updating existing TrackStat plugin isn't a
priority, I like to prioritize working on some other stuff related to
the music discovery thread instead. The plan is that this will replace
TrackStat in the future.

Sure, I understand. I wanted to make sure that I hadn't missed anything

Thanks - I'll update the SQL Playlist wiki page.

I discovered the option to avoid repeating tracks:
-- PlaylistOption DontRepeatTracks:1

Is this equivalent of doing a filter such as:
NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM dynamicplaylist_history WHERE
dynamicplaylist_history.client='PlaylistPlayer' AND
dynamicplaylist_history.id=tracks.id)

i.e. does "DontRepeatTracks:1" only look for dynamic playlist history for the
current player?

If you look back earlier in this thread there was some discussion of
cases like this - you can try editing the perl code for the plugin, but
I don't recommend cases like this as the plugin assumes the players and
spotifyd are both on the local network.

Hi,

I have a problem with the Spotify plugin, it says:

"Error: Couldn't create command line for sflc playback" in the logs,
and the Squeezebox player says that it can't play the filetype. I'm
using a Squeezebox 2, and the latest Squeezecenter software on a

It looks like the server isn't transcoding the Spotify stream to the
right format but I don't know what I need to do to make this work.

Thanks!

That sounds a bit beyond me I'm afraid. I'm running Linux ubuntu

I'm familiar with some terminal commands via Putty. Any advice on how

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

Yes, there's a spotify entry which has Stream Format FLAC and is set to
'native'. The spotify plugin is version 1.1.0 and the plugging settings
show me as logged in to spotify. I can browse albums in spotify, and
choose tracks, but not play them.

I have no problem playing FLACs that are on my local machine, or
streaming from other sources such as the BBC.

Thanks,

Matt

Can you check what is in the server log and post it here?

Are the instructions the same or different if SBS is running under
Linux? If different, what is the correct incantation? Thanks.

Those use of uninitialized value errors appear a lot in the logs and
are unconnected to spotify use, I just pasted in those two lines as an
example.

Yes! Thanks guys. I've already downloaded the manual, and found out
exactly what you wrote here. I Thought I had to make the quick set thru
webrowser, but it was just to hold the hardware button in the right
corner. Now it works like a charm.

It's supposed to, but looking at the code in SQL Playlist in its
"getTracksForResult" function it looks like there is a bug so it isn't
limited to current player. At the moment I think it removes all tracks
that have been added earlier independent which player they have been
added on.

The purpose of PlaylistOptionDontRepeatTracks is to use it together
with PlaylistOptionContentType. PlaylistOptionContentType can be used
to specify that the SQL will return album, artist, year, genre,
playlist instead of tracks. In the case the SQL doesn't return tracks,
the PlaylistOptionDontRepeatTracks is used to make sure it doesn't add
tracks that has already been played.
