I have no other network issues that I am aware of. Muso, running on the
same PC as MC, is regularily colleting the entire content of the SBS
library and that is really fast.

I am on MC 16.0.32. The latest MC 16 public beta (.79, I think) has too
many issues for me due to the switch from IE to Chromium as the internal
browser.

Sorry for wrongly suspecting your plugin. It is very slow even with all

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custombrowse - Sort Orders and Disc numbers

2011-02-28 Thread PasTim

I have tried something else which appears to have done the trick. I set
the 'behaviour' to 'treat multi-disc sets as a single album'. The order
for this album is now correct.

I don't know if there will be a knock-on effect in usability for other
types of album, but will see how it goes. I have a lot of multi-disc
sets (with the Album Title the same on each disc). I also have some
large multi-disc sets with several different album titles.

I'm still at a loss to see what happened to the sort order on the album
in question, and would like to know if it is deliberate that DISC for
titles is blank when = 1.

Slow as in not working at all most of the time. After several attempts
with and without plugins I now have 500 files imported.

It seems as if SBS stalls when the request comes. Music playback is
stopped and control over the Squeezeboxes are at least temporarily
lost.

Mysql is working but is never using over 50% cpu.

While writing this I tried it once again with plugins enabled. Music
stopped and I lost control over my Squeezeboxes, but eventually files
started loading at a pace of 50 files in between 1 or 2 minutes. I am
now up to 1,100 files.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custombrowse - Sort Orders and Disc numbers

2011-02-28 Thread PasTim

If I keep to the setting which treats multiple disc sets as 1 album, how
can I get the disc number onto the song info details (when I click on
the track). I have various extra custom tag fields displayed (eg Work,
Movement), but Disc isn't a custom tag, so I how can I get a field from
the SB database into the track info?

If the total number of discs was available that would be useful as
well.

If anyone can point me in the right general direction I may be able to
work this out, but at the moment I don't see how SB hangs together, and
don't know where to go to find out.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custombrowse - Sort Orders and Disc numbers

2011-02-28 Thread PasTim

Using the setting "treat multiple disc sets as 1 album" the DISC number
now appears, even when = 1, when included in the title format, provided
the album is a multi-disc set. It is still empty for a single disc
album. This is an improvement over what I had before (which was that
when disc = 1 it was always shown as blank for all albums).

I guess this makes sense. If all discs are treated as individual ones
why bother to show disc number when it is 1. Whereas when there are
multi-disc sets, you need to know each disc number.

I'd still like to get this into the track info shown when clicking on a
track, but I'm not sure which menu to change. I know 'disc' is an
attribute of 'tracks' (and of 'albums', which also includes 'discc'
which I take to be the number of discs in the set), but which xml do I
add the appropriate bit of sql to?.

I had assumed that, but there's clearly something fundamental I'm
missing.

If I choose Fishbone, rather than FishBoneCB, I can still get to my
classical menu (because it's at the top level menu?) and select, say,
works by composer. It all seems to work, so what's the fundamental
difference? I'm sorry I keep saying I don't understand, but there's
clearly something basic I am missing.

Using FisboneCB I've also been trying to modify the track details to
show the disc number when selecting a track. Even if I modify
track.cb.context.xml from the custom browse editor, and save it,
nothing seems to change. I tried changing a piece of text (eg TrackNo
to TrackxNo), but nothing changed. I have changed it, and can see it
if I look at the xmls directlt. I've stopped and restarted SB. No
change.

However, if I introduce a fault in the sql (by deleted the 'is' before
'is not null', I get an error message that shows my modified sql (which
it then promptly ignores). It's all very strange.

Check at http://bugs.slimdevices.com and see if you can find a bug
registered for it, if there isn't one already I suggest that you
register a new one. If you register a new one, register the bug for the
standard Fishbone skin. You don't have to mention FishboneCB in the bug
report, just post a link to the bug report in this thread and I'll add
it to my watch list and fix FishboneCB after Logitech has corrected the
bug in Fishbone skin.

There's another 256 possible pre_data values making for a grand total
of 65536 possible codes in the NEC protocol standard (which this is).
It would be very unlikely though if the power code used a different
pre_data value to the rest of the system. Have you tried contacting
LG? They may be helpful.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Photo Gallery Plugin Howto?

2011-02-28 Thread squsqu

I've installed the Gallery Plugin using Squeezebox Server 7.53 and
wonder how to use the plugin with my brandnew Touch.

After adding the repository as recommended and enabling the plugin in
the server settings I restarted the server. In the settings I selected
a folder that contains a few jpg files. (without an underscrore or any
other character).

Now going to the Touch - but I don't have any idea how to
call/start/use the plugin. Where could I browse that folder and add
files to the favourites (which seems to be necessary if I read
corectly?)
Or do I need to call the Image Viewer in the settings menu? (but that
looks at before)

No error in the server log.

Probably I'm missing some very basic step .

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

top doesn't change (except the timeline bar), even though the new track
is playing. If I reload the frame (using Chrome right click on the
right hand pane) it loads the correct data. That means I do have a
manual fix for this, so it's not too much of an issue.

Once again, apologies for messing you about and time you have wasted.
I will try to stop posting until I really am sure about stuff. It's
too tempting to ask for help rather than bash away on one's own. I'll
be keeping quiet for a while...

You can find it here:
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/SqueezeboxServer_v7.5.2/squeezeboxserver-7.5.2.tgz

Just installed 1.3.1. Works like a charm on my DS209 (combined with
squeezebox receiver) with SBS7.5.2 installed with SSODS.

Thanks again Triode!

I believe the ReadyNas Duo uses a sparc processor and so can't be
supported as there are no spotify libraries for it.

no, I haven't tried contacting Lg as yet, I'll so that in a moment.
I thought it would be odd, but honestly the xml loaded every time and

Happy for you that it works on your side. I wish it would on mine but
there are a few things I don't understand/know for the installation.
First, I am used to upload a .spk file to instal SB server. The file
you refer to (.tgz) contains a lot of files but not a .spk file. I
don't know how to instal ver. 7.5.2. with these files.
Second, SSDOS actually the same. Contains a lot of files and don't know
how to install it. Sorry for my ignorance but I do know that I like
spotify very much and I would be greatful if it finally wordks with me
too. Tnx.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2011-02-28 Thread seren

So, is there anyone who has succesfully run the plugin on a stock
Synology (DS107+) DS3 installation with the Synology 7.5.3 plugin
instead of the SSODS package? I get the timeout errors too mentioned
here (no helper app running).

I'm kinda reluctant to switch squeezebox apps (again).

And since I'm new to squeezebox plugins. I have two plugins selected
the Triode one (v1.3.1) and the Logitech one (v1.0). I think the latter
one is of no use for me as I have a Duet. Uncheck the Logitech plugin,
or shouldn't it matter?

I'm used the latest non beta (i think was 7.5.3?). But when i removed
custom scan, problem partly still existed (after change rating, server
couldnt respond some sec) i installed the latest 7.6 beta.
It s seems to be working perfectly and MUCH MORE faster, than 7.5.x.
Now i quite happy, but custom scan still very slow if i change rating
on a track. Not a bit problem, because i wanted playlist generator to
export all of my 4-5 star rating tracks to MediaMonkey only. I have 700
songs unrated only so after i'll can wait once for an export. :)
Or have u a better idea to export all top rated tracks to MediaMonkey
as playlist?

OK, those log entries don't make any sense to me at all. Things seem
to be happening in the wrong order and somehow Squeezebox Server itself
is stopping when you attempt the suspend. That should only happen with
a shutdown request. I think your SrvrPowerCtrl settings have gotten
messed up.

I suggest you uninstall SrvrPowerCtrl, making sure that you find and
delete the /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/perfs/Plugins/srvrpowerctrl.prefs
file. Reboot your server and then reinstall SrvrPowerCtrl and start
again.

If you're going to use SrvrPowerCtrl for idle monitoring, you need to
completely disable the Gnome Power Manager. If you really want to use
the built in Gnome power management, then disable SrvrPowerCtrl's idle
monitoring and install the ReallyPreventStandby plugin. If you do
that, you'll need to configure your ubuntu box to auto-login.
ReallyPreventStandby requires an active Gnome session to do it's job.

I upgraded to 1.3.1 yesterday and it has made Spotify unplayable with
constant rebuffering, much worse than with 1.3. How do I roll back to
1.3?

Here's the log, which doesn't seem to show any errors (from 1 example,
this happened repeatedly until I gave up trying to listen to any music
from Spotify through Squeezebox Boom or Duet/Classic).

Still running Win 7,
Server 7.5.3
