Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announcement: Whitebear Media Server (UPnP/DLNA) v2.0 released !!

This would allow me switch radio stations (I have Pandora > stations in my favorites) from my remote.I have just now created a new beta > version of Whitebear that exposes the Favorites. However, I encountered difficulties with Favorites that refer to remote radio or podcast urls. It seems that sometimes a remote radio or podcast url is a direct link to a music stream, but sometimes the remote url is an INDIRECT link to a playlist file (.pls or .m3u format) which is a text file that contains a text list of one or more urls pointing to real music streams. Now unfortunately, many existing UPnP / DLNA players do not really support such playlist text files. So the conclusion is: Yes, I could include Favorites in a next version of Whitebear, but unfortunately No, it would not support the indirect playlist variety (.pls or .m3u) of remote radio or podcast streams; only the direct url (.mp3, .ogg, .wav, .flc) variety is supportable. I don't know if this is sufficent? => What do you think? -- AndrewFG Regards, AndrewFG Try out Whitebear. The middleware that joins the two worlds of: 1. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: FindArt plugin beta
No - FindArt is a plugin written in Perl and so the code is executed by SBS -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49245 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: FindArt plugin beta
SBS is under the default "squeezeboxserver nogroup" user/group. I am simply logged in as an ordinary user. When I check the art file the owner is "couchdb" and permissions for group and other are set to read only. Does FindArt do stuff with the Apache document store package? It seems user couchdb is related to that. -- siasl siasl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3368 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49245 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: FindArt plugin beta
FindArt save files with the same ownership as process which runs SBS. What is the owner and group of the process running SBS ? What owner and group do you normally use ? -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49245 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: FindArt plugin beta
One other frustrating thing is the art file is saved as owner "couchdb" which makes it read only. Have to chmod it before I can edit the file name. How can I have FindArt save the file with rw permissions. server is on ubuntu 10.04 squeezeboxserver 7.54 -- siasl siasl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3368 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49245 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
